Dingo for the EEE pc
Haven't seen anyone else post about trying Dingo 3.99 on the EEE yet. So EEE owners here's a head's up: 1. Make sure you download the atl2 module if using a wired connection bacuse the module for the EEE is not pre-loaded. You have to goto 'connect' then 'load' click 'more' then type atl2. Works fin...

Needs atl2 module
If you want a wired connection, then do a search in the forum for the atl2 (ATL2) module. If you are looking to hook up wirelessly I can;t help since I use wired only. Good luck.

Nice knives Dan!
Nice to know you don't stay idle with all the free-time it sounds like you have .
Quick question for any and all...Is there a way to have Pupeee default to an external monitor, which is what I use 99% of the time? Thanks.

Opera 9.50b running great!
Just made the switch from Firefox to Opera because on my EEE pc with 512 mb ram, video playback was always a bit annoying with the slowdowns in Firefox. I just figured that was the price I had to pay. Wrong! Opera is much quicker and video playback much smoother now. Thank you so much for posting th...

modprobe settings for fan in conky?
I have the temperature sensor working in conky but can't get the fan status to show up. I've tried modprobe fan which seems to work, but then on restarting conky it still doesn't recognize it. Am I doing/not doing something right?
Thanks
Thanks

Putting Pupeee on EEE's SSD...
Is there a way to put Pupeee on the SSD and have it boot in DMA mode? I did a benchmark using hdparm between my install on the SSD and my Transcend 8g class 6 card and the Transcend was almost twice as fast. I can't remember exactly the install choices in Pupeee but I think I chose to install to 'in...

Nice work! Need more conkyrc files...
Thanks to all that have posted so far! I really like the minimalist, small horizontal-bar approach. Think I'll start working to re-arrange mine. I've also seen where some have rigged conky to check their email, weather and RSS feeds. Anyone have this working in Puppy? (Saw them in the Ubuntu forums)...

Post your conkyrc files with screenshots here
Ubuntu has a posting like this but a lot of their files don't work in Puppy, so I was hoping some of you out there running conky in Puppy (3.01 if it matters) would help a noob trying to learn to get started. Saw some interesting add-ons like gmail and a weather forecaster in ubuntu conky but they n...

Using external monitor question
99.9% of the time, my EEE sits on my desk connected to my 42" Sony HDTV and I have to use the fn 5 key twice to get the image just onto the TV before booting or else the image is completely off-centered and 'squished'. I know its not that big a deal but if there is a way around it with a script...

SSD booting as HDC1 slower on EEE pc Problem solved!
Please, all EEE users that want to/or already have put Pupeee or other versions onto the SSD, this post will allow DMA usage with your SSD thus dramatically increasing the speed, like it was in Xandros. Wish somehow we could incorporate this into the next Pupeee build. Thanks http://forum.eeeuser.co...

Good choice
I have the 2G in black and when I was using the default OS I was disappointed with the amount of SSD space. Now using Pupeee (Puppy 3.01 for the EEE) I have LOTS more space free. I just hope Asus will keep offering the basic 2G model because its a great machine and cheaper than an ipod! Here's what ...

Need atl2 module for EEE Pc
I'm using the Pupeee derivitive of 3.01 which is great, but none of the others that I have tried (NOP,DCL,Dragon and a couple of others) do not seem to come with the atl2 module for the Atheros wired networking module. Is there a wat to copy this from Pupeee into these new versions so I can try to s...

Dingo beta and EEE pc network module
The EEEpc uses the atl2 module for wired networking and only the atl1 module is in the setup (doesn't work). Tried several others to no avail. I'm currently using Pupeee which works fine, but wanted to surf with the latest. Any chance we could get the EEE wired and wireless modules into the next bet...

Help...Re: SSD DMA
if you used the default directory with a frugal install the suggestion would look something like: title Puppy Linux 3.01 Frugal rootnoverify (hd0,0) kernel /puppy301/vmlinuz pmedia=idehd psubdir=puppy301 initrd /puppy301/initrd.gz all you need to do is change the kernal line a little to look like: k...

Pupeee and HP usb cd..Problem solved
I've installed Pupeee 3.01 on my EEE ssd, and for some reason when I try to mount the USB cd-rom drive it is not showing up. When I was using it from a SD card as a trial it would locate it and label it sr0 which I could then mount/unmount. I also have a USB HDD which it recognizes fine. Any ideas? ...
