It has been a long time since that... the dog is dead, I'm using a linksys wireless router for a while now.

I remember that I made a bash script to get iptables modified (just a couple of lines).

Try installing the debian package, using dillo and de debian installer (both are pupGET)

Download the debian package from http://packages.debian.org/etch/libwrap0

Choose the right one for your box.

Tell me if it helps

Thanks both for you ideas,

I tried:

startxfce4 (error command not found)

and xwin startxfce4, xwin xfce4, xwin xfce4-session started jwm every time.

I read the "XFCE 4.2.2 desktop for puppy official release" but it didn't solve my problem.

I will keep trying

For the ones that could have the same problem: I run the Alsa Wizar with any Sound Blaster and then I modified the following at the end of /etc/modprobe.conf to be: # --- BEGIN: Generated by ALSACONF, do not edit. --- # --- ALSACONF verion 1.0.8 --- alias snd-card-0 snd-sbawe alias sound-s...

Yes, you are right.. the "Windows Defender".

Nevertheless I set up the shared internet connection without any problems.

Now I have my puppy desktop working also as a wireless router.

Thanks all in this forum!

Thanks Aitch!

I got the wifi working, using ndiswrapper (win98 .inf file).

Now I'm trying to share internet with a Vista Laptop. But that is in another post I opened here.

Its amazing how the puppy community helps one to the other. Very impressive.

Thanks again

Install Wireless Driver ENLWI-G2

Hi, I was trying to compile some lan drivers, and i had to install devx_301.sfs. Then I could use, for example the make command, but I get another error, I do not have the /lib/modules/2.6.21.7/build/ folder... So, the build folder is missing. I guess that I should do something with kernel-src_301.s...

Compiling Wireless drivers

Hi,

I've downloaded rtl8185 drivers. And tried to install them on my Puppy 3.01 with no success.

Once I run ./makedrv I got an error telling me that a lib/modules/... /build folder is missing..

What can I do?

I want to use PUPPY PC as a regular pc, but also as a Wireless Router, so that I get Internet in my Laptop too.

No, I actually have a cable modem, connected to Puppy PC through eth0.

I put wlan0 in mode Ad Hoc, so the laptop with vista see my puppy pc when scan for wireless networks.

But vista can't connect.

I also have in that PC a wlan0, and i want to set up something in order to be able to connect to Internet through my laptop (wireless). It's that possible? I'm posting from Puppy 3.01. Thanks...
