GREAT! Funnily my mom wants to sell her little house, just now. There came a company to help her, the internet exhibition would cost them 395 € per month. They would do that investment for her for four month! Nice pictures. Stones mean Nekrophilie (Fromm). I guess Lobster lives in nostalgia now, the...

As far as i know "Icewm is even not a Window Manager".

Because I don't like icewm somebody else will help you, I think somewhat like icedock has to be installed.

That's the mcs-manager in xfce for.

I'd suggest to only boot from cd with the pfix=noram option for trying out Puppy; create the savefile and install Opera, which will be started then from hd. As an ubuntu user you can make a frugal install -the grub entry will be given in tmp-, it takes only minutes, and remaster the cd adding pfix=n...

For me it was useful to copy menu.lst to C:\, because grub searches root directories first.

Booted puppy on usb flash with the windoze-bootmanager.

Don't know about puppy4 but in puppy3 you CAN use tgz2pet for slackware packages or even use gslapt. Tgz2pet creates the necessary symlinks (and will tell you left dependencies after install). The install folder in the .tgz packages has a deps list, too. Have a look at www.slacky.eu for fresh progra...

If you boot with the "puppy pfix=ram" option your savefile will be ignored! Puppy usually loads completely into ram if possible. After booting from the puppy cd the uncompressed filesystem (pup_xxx.sfs on the cd) "appears". Booting that file from the harddisk is faster, as the ha...

Hm, I don't remember any difference in arranging icons between windoze and puppy. There was also no need in windows to select a file by leftclick for drag and drop(?). When icons in windows were doubled I simply separated them with the mouse as in puppy. In my opinion Linux isn't less intuitive than...

In gparted you will first have to choose "extended" which will then can be filled with logical partitions.

The partition with the pup_3xx.sfs on it is mounted at bootup as /initrd/mnt/dev_save and a link to /mnt/home is created.

Hope that helps.

I became accustomed to get ROX in german to compile shared-mime-info. A week ago, didn't go further in localization, using gslapt, installed ROX2.6. Imagine: it was in german. Did it for a multimedia *.sfs. Everything stayed german as expected but NOBODY will get rid anymore of ROX native language. ...
