After 24 hrs I just had to have another attempt. For an unknown reason I came across this thread: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=644748 Reading the first post I noted: If frugally installed set temporary directory outside of SaveFile . Go to edit > preferences > directories set to some...

First of all a thank you to: greengeek nic007 fabrice_035, and Flash for responding to my post. The personal storage icon was blinking red so I increased its size twice with no change in Audacity's behaviour. As I have a very short fuse with programs that do not operate the way I expect I have gone ...

Audacity will not open some .mp3 files (Solved)
I am running a frugal install of BionicPup32 with Audacity 2.2.1. I have several .mp3 files containing a number of tracks. What i am trying to do is separate the tracks and name them appropriately. However when trying to open the .mp3 files I get this message: File Error Audacity failed to write to ...

s243a, With earlier versions of puppy it was a simple matter of editing /etc/rc.d/rc.firewall. I will investigate my router settings. EDIT: It would seem that the firewall script in this version of puppy does not need to be amended to prevent response to pings. I did not change any router settings. ...

BionicPup32 - Response to pings (Solved)
I have no /etc/rc.d/rc.firewall file even though it shows as firewall enabled. I would like to edit the file so there is no response to pings.

BionicPup32 volume slider not working (Solved)
I am now using the Optiplex 9020 SFF full time and have a frugal install of BionicPup32. As the title says the volume slider does not change the volume - the only effect is that, depending on the "level", sometimes there is sound and other times silence. Running alsamixer gives: Card: HDA ...

More questions. 1. I have no /etc/rc.d/rc.firewall file even though it shows as firewall enabled. I would like to edit the file so there is no response to pings. 2. When I hover the mouse cursor over the speaker icon I get a reading of 65295% and the slider is unresponsive. How do I get the correct ...

bigpup, Sorry for not addressing your questions above - I thought I would take another route and install 5.2.8 to another directory on the SSD letting the install do everything - or so I thought. Create a MBR, let Grub installer do its thing and reboot. No prize for guessing that the new install doe...
