I will use the ext3 format from now on. I didn't know if one was better. I did a couple of 528 installs/burns and had the same problem. What I finally did to fix it was burn a copy, then boot to it, then exchange the root file from the live cd in ram with the root file installed on the hard drive. T...

Thanks Semme. I looked at that and it could be something is Firefox, but I haven't ran across it in Windows application with Firefox. What I have done and noticed is this. In Open box - no problem - default is where the window needs to be. I installed Ice and default is fine. The JWM is apparently w...

(so you can use the space at 0,22 but have to reset it every time you open firefox? if you close the window when it's set correctly and then reopen it, it defaults back to 3,22?) Yup, that's the problem. I have reinstalled both Puppy and Firefox, but nothing changes it. I wasn't aware of it's connec...

Bigpup: No I was running it in just a maximized screen for the most part - nothing in a smaller screen. Dogfellow: No this doesn't work off the double click unless I change the coordinates from 3,22 to 0,22. Then the double click works. After changing the double click moves the screen from 3,22 to 0...

Thanks for the help, Semme. In toying around with this, I find this is apparently a function of a window manager. I have Firefox on Vista with the same type of drop down menu when right clicking on the top border of Firefox (the border with the site description, minimize, full screen, close on it. In...

It would be every webpage. I find it out with the AIOS extension. I right click on the upper firefox border and that gives me the coordinates which are 3,22. When I adjust the coordinates to 0,22 everything lines up on the left side of the screen and my All in One Sidebar extension works with the mo...

Firefox screen slightly off center
I don't know if this is something that an adjustment in Puppy would take of or if it's a Firefox issue. The screen orientation in Firefox is off slightly. It reads 3,22 and it needs to be 0,22. Is there something in Puppy 528 Lucid that can move this, like the screen resolution or something in the h...

Thanks for the reply. It's a full install. The quickpet shows no package available on all the quickpet versions of Firefox. In fact it shows that on a lot of the applications from all the mirrors in the Package manager. Yes on the save file. The partition is ext2 - 5gig on a Latitude Laptop. The oth...

Lucid works in RAM (from CD) but not when installed
Using 528 Lucid. Off the live cd firefox opens and works fine, but when I install to hardrive, it doesn't open at all. I use Firefox 30 downloaded as a linux Tar file. Then extract to a file and use the Firefox system icons to open. I've installed a couple of Pet packages to get this to work. I've d...

I have four. One swap, one windows, then two Linux. The Grub4dos is installed by a Puppy Linux utility. That partition, when opened off the icon, shows a boot/grub file with just system icons and no text files. On the other linux (Mepis) I have a regular boot/grub folder that has a menu.lst in it. T...

Grub4dos menu.lst
Could someone tell me where to find the menu.lst from a Puppy Linux Grub4Dos installation. With just a Grub installation I know it was in the Boot/Grub folder. But there's no text files in that folder in the Grub4Dos.

Thanks, aarf. I ran acrosss that somewhere and had been resizing cells on the rest of the configuration. I can do that to match the path and that's probably the best way to go. I kinda got hooked on the idea I got here on editing the path text while the path stayed in the cell. That way I only had o...

Sorta Solved
Apparently there is something in gnumeric that just doesn't work with the hyperlink in Puppy 521. However, I installed Open Office Calc and tried the same thing with the hyperlink and it works really well. The hyperlink in Open office doesn't do well with Abiword, but linking folders it works very w...

Gnumeric link - Puppy521(Solved - Sorta)
Working on getting a link in my spreadsheet to a folder with a couple of pictures and selling information for ebay. I had information here and from another linux forum about the hyperlink working, then editing the cell entry, which would maintain the path yet give me the one word link to the folder ...

Inserting a folder/image link in gnumeric
Using Puppy 521 with the gnumeric spreadsheet. Is there a way to insert a link with, ideally an icon, in the spreadsheet cell to open a folder or image stored on the harddrive with a click? I didn't want to just insert the picture, it could take up too much room - or to insert the picture and down s...
