puppy 3.01 - wireless support on laptops.
Great post, now I'm willing to try some older 2.x versions.
I'm also encouraged to update my 3.01 with some 4.0 looks and hopefully features.
Frankly I'm glad to see others have had issues with 4.0. I thought I was the only one.

Try booting off of a puppy 3.01 cd and see if you can get wirelss to work. And try the NDIS wrapper. I have an older Dell with 256 MB of ram and D-Link b/g wireless card. With puppy 3.01, booting from CD or installed on the hard drive, I had to use the windows driver using the wrapper. I set it up o...

I have been playing with puppy off and on. I still use version 3.01 since I can't get wireless to work properly with 4.0. I've tried several different laptops with working wireless configurations in winxp environments that will not work with puppy 4.0. I have a thinkpad T30 with an internal wireless...

I cleanly installed 4.00 and had the same results as listed above with 3.99. I tried the network-wiz-update-Oct5.pet and madwifi-0.9.3.3-patch-k2.6.21.7.pet with no improvements. I would love to fix this. I feel like I am close, especially since my wireless DLink 650 rev C works fine in 3.01. Now th...

Stable WiFi configurator/configuration
3.01 Full Install is great, and for wifi on my older Dell laptop with a PCMCIA DLink 650 I use the NDIS wrapper and it works great. I save my settings and everytime I boot after that, the wireless comes up on boot. Perfect. On a different partition I installed 3.99. The same wireless device is recog...
