Installing a network printer
All right - rank beginner time! Can anyone help me install a network printer? I'm working with Dingo on my laptop, and I want to connect over my home wireless network to use my printer, which is connected to our desktop which runs Windows XP. Is that possible, and if so, how? If you could keep it si...

I've done some looking on my own, and it appears that there is a general problem with the Compaq Presario 1200 and Linux. The machine was engineered to house Windows, and the BIOS doesn't play well with Linux in any form. Microsoft even had to issue a patch for XP before it would recognize the batte...

I'm running Dingo on a Compaq Presario 1200, and I've tried all the configurations mentioned, and two different battery monitors. It appears that the monitors work fine, but the OS is just not recognizing my battery. I'd send you the results of running lsmod, but the copy function you've discussed i...

How do I configure asapm battery monitor?
I've searched the forum for details on this one, but to no avail. I'm using Puppy 4.0 on a Compaq Presario 1200 laptop, and I've put asapm battery monitor in my startup. Problem is, it doesn't recognize the battery. When I unplug the laptop, the monitor doesn't change from the AC setting. I don't kn...

Upgrading Puppy 4 caused menu to disappear
I've installed Linux Puppy 4 to my Compaq Presario 1200 laptop, and in the course of upgrading it, I've inadvertently caused my whole menu to disappear. There is only help (which isn't) and shutdown. The desktop icons are still there, but I've lost access to most of the applicaitons. Can anyone help...
