Impossible to shrink an XFS partition so not enough room in / to upgrade Mint 17.3 => Mint 18.

Hi I need a copy of Mint's /home but Slack pupp sees no contents?!? My Mint /home is XFS so cannot be resized so plan to manually copy /home to back up HDD then nuke partition, recreate/resize root & home then copy back home contents. This could be a permissions mess but need byte for byte copy ...

I heard talk of Zarfy but installing under latest community Slack 6.xxx results in nothing happening when installed .pet & click on Zarfy menu entry?

I've seen it said that it is easier to upgrade a frugal install as opposed to full install. It is just a case of replacing some files. Can I point universal installer to correct partition & it'll do the rest

I'm used to Xubuntu which has regular security updates. I'm guessing Pup was not really designed to be run as a full install. Rather, booting from DVD each time would be more secure as OS image would be read only. Is Pup secure by nature because so niche? Does a frugal install differ from full secur...
