Thank you rcrsn51 . It works perfectly. Have you actually done this in Ubuntu? If so, locate the PPD file and post it here. Look in the folder /etc/cups/ppd. Yes, actually in LinuxMint10. I no longer have that installatiion but when I reinstall it soon I will try to remember to post the PPD file the...

Canon MP250: How to add fast greyscale option? (Solved)
The pet file for the MP250 works great and I have the printer running. However, the only print option is RGB at 600dpi. I want to add a fast greyscale option as can be done quickly and easily in Ubuntu. http://harbhag.wordpress.com/2010/07/03/enable-grayscale-printing-in-canon-pixma-mp250-series-on-...

CUPS Repaired in Puppy Linux 5.2 by accident.
For the last few weeks I've been able to bring up only the home page for my cups configuration in PuppyLinux 5.2. When I tried to go to, say, Printers, I would get a web page error. When researching this problem I read that it could be due to an installation causing root vs. account conflict. Anyway...

Cups 1.4.3 in Lupu 5.2 Broken after Once Working
I'm using a frugal install of Lupu-5.2 and a Canon Pixma MP150 printer/scanner. A few weeks ago the printer was working and now it is not. I was very pleased with the ease of the setup originally. I can bring up the Cups 1.4.3 home page but when I click on, say Jobs, I get 500 Internal Server Error ...

Qfaxreader in PuppyLinux 5.2
In 5.2 when running Qfaxreader in Terminal the process stops in error condition saying that libpng.so.3 cannot be found. Note that libpng12.so is the new replacement for libpng.so.3 and the Qfaxreader version above requires the older link. I got it to work by creating a link for libpng12.so but rena...

Thanks stu90 . I wasn't aware of the default desktop and missed the JWM switcher option when I was looking around before posting above. Since I frequently use the menu items, I'm now back to the JWM desktop following your directions. I just burned the 5.2 iso and it booted perfectly in an HP tx1000 ...

Puppy 5.2 rightclick on taskbar window icon missing options
In Puppy 5.2 the rightclick menu on taskbar window icons is missing some traditional and useful options such as SendTo (desktop#) and Kill.
Is there an alternative or a way of adding especially SendTo (desktop#) and Kill?

Hi CatDude and thanks. It works perfectly for me this way too. I had always done it that way successfully with former versions and it is nice to have this working now. But as always before, there is no sound rendering . Have you ever had success with playing the sound embedded in the PPT presentatio...

Hi playdayz, I did not try the native PDF printer until after installing Foxit via Quickpet. From other posts about the problem I gather that it exists with or without Foxit. I first noticed the problem when I tried to print a PDF copy of an online receipt from a web page in the Seamonkey browser. I...

Hi playdayz, Actually when I first found that the native pdf printer was not working in my Lucid 5.0.1 I did a search on http://wellminded.com/puppy/pupsearch.html using +pdf +lucid as a search criterion and I found a number of already existing posts on this problem. In my Lucid 5.0.1 I had installe...

Configuring a working PDF printer in Lucid and 4.2.1
Here is what I did to configure a working PDF printer which for me is an essential feature. Via menu items: Menu/Setup/CupsPrinterWizard/Administration/FindNewPrinters Even though there is the native non-working pdf printer, the Wizard will find a new pdf printer. Select that and advance to the next...

What about external serial and usb modems with later and the latest kernel in Puppy? I seem to remember reading that the serial ones just depend on the serial configuration and don't depend on a kernel module. Perhaps that would be the same with the usb ones too. I donated my old serial modems to my...

ESS ES2898 Modem also missing module in Lucid
I am upgrading a friend's computer to PL5.0.1 that I had previously set up with PL4.1.2. She uses dial-up so I need the modem to be working. The ESS ES2898 modem was working fine in PL4.1.2 showing up as ttyS-ESSO with esscom module. In PL5.0.1 it loads the cdc_acm module for the modem and the modem...

Thanks Sigmund. After my posting above and before your response post. I found the 3.2.3 and oddly enough, it behaved with the same faults and errors as the 3.1.2. Thinking that it may be a kernel version problem, I booted up Puppy 4.3.1 retro and found the same problem. Nicely though, after removing...

Thanks Dennis. I'm not quite clear on what you meant here: extract over your existing SM install Do you mean to just add the extracted files to my existing /usr/lib/seamonkey folder containing my existing SM files? EDIT 1: I just extracted the download in a directory on another drive and clicked on ...
