Perhaps this was already known, but on my Dell D620 an already super fast Tubo was even faster when I remove the HD and booted from the Flash drive. 4. Yes there is an X desktop, it uses JWM to show a taskar at the right of the screen, with icons for the most useful or important apps installed.

Is this a problem whether LAN is used or not?

In other words, is the LAN turned on by probing when Puppy boot then left on?

It has javascript, you just click the S in the lower right corner to allow the scripts you want.

To enable Java, click preferences, in the Edit menu, then Advanced. There is a check box there.
