Topic: How to install Hamachi from .tar file?

I've come across a problem when installing Hamachi under Qemu and that is the fact, that the DotPup folder that points to the readme and is created under Menu gets duplicated every time I restart Qemu Puppy.

I'm not sure this is related to Hamachi or Qemu, but would appreciate any and all assistance.

I just installed this version in Qemu Puppy and am unable to login.

Is this version even able to go online; 0.9.9.9-20 was released quite some time ago?

EDIT: after multiple reboots I somehow got in.

rarsa, I hate bumping this, but since it's so badly needed by me, I though I'd ask what kind of progress have you made with this?

Thank you in advance rarsa, I'd love to be able to use VPN and rdesktop to administer a machine now and then through Puppy.

I think it would be great if someone would manage to produce a nice application just like QTParted which would be a fraction of its size. I think a GUI will help a lot of new members (like myself) install and maybe even fully convert to Puppy. I've never tried it, but how does http://gparted.sourcef...

Appologies to everyone, I had an extra dot at the end of the filename that is why it wasn't working.

Can someone please post a step-by-step tutorial how to do this. I need to access my e-mails for work by using the ICA Client, Java can also be used, but I don't really have the room for an application of that size.

MU thank you for yet another contribution. I am however unable to make use of it. I'm using 1.0.9 CE LiveCD and my pup001 is on my USB drive (/mnt/home; FAT32; all my other partitions are NTFS) where I've also placed usr_more.sfs. Rebooted and when trying to wine "/mnt/home/program files/WHATEV...

Has any decision been made regarding Qtparted. Are you considering adding it to v2.0 of Puppy?

Please add Qtparted to Puppy

I'd really like this added (replace other existing applications).
It's a great application that can do pretty much everything cfdisk and parted can do. And it fully supports NTFS, which will come in handy for all those moving away from the Windows OSs.

Thank you for your suggestion jmarsden. I'm aware of both g4u and g4l (and the story behind them). The scale won't be so big and using FTP is almost out of the question, I usually hook up one HDD using an USB/IDE adapter and just copy over. The above has worked quite well on half a dozen machines th...

Well it's supposed to be a security measure. Ubuntu and other distros are quite fond of it. But I actually didn't run it as sudo. Don't know if it's related to the version of Knoppix I'm using (4.0.2) or something else. I just know that qparted (ntfsresize) did a great, great job. I'm currently DDin...

I tested this again today using a different PC. Everything went smoothly but was unable to boot into Windows. Used a boot disk (on another PC since my main box lacks a FDD), fixed the MBR and was able to boot it up afterwards (on both PCs). Qparted did its thing again and I'm writting this from the ...

SystemRescueCd/Partimage was not up to the job. I once again tried dd if=/dev/hda1 of=/dev/sda1 bs=32256 on a different PC and once it completed I was able to boot in the Windows OS without any problems (no missing NTLDR or anything). Naturally the partition showing up was the same size as the one f...

Thank you GuestToo. I'll give SystemRescueCd a try to see if Partimage does what I want it to and report back my findings.
