To selectively download a torrent you can selct the ones you dont want to download then select ignore(when you first add it) or if you have already added it go to details then files then do the same. Try "xwin icewm" or "xwin starticewm", I'm not sure which.
You should also check your filesystem for errors.
Boot puppy into ram with pfix=ram, then run:

I asume you are using a Frugal install(Since you booted from usb). In that case you shouldn't use that method as it is for persons who have a full HD installation.
