Puppy for Asus X205 with Atom processor
My post was to see if anyone here has had any experience with an X205TA. I've used many different Pups over the last few years and can follow instructions and hints. But experimenting and testing is not my forte as I don't know how to code what needs to be done. The Atom will boot and run on ubuntu ...

Puppy for Asus X205 with Atom processor
The Atom in the Asus netbook uses an odd system; 64 bit processor, 32 bit OS, with 32 bit boot loader. I love puppy linux but can't make any 'Nix go on this rig. Anyone know if Bionicpup32 will boot and run on my processor? Or what I need to do patch it? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The easiest way I did several EEEpcs was to use an external optical drive. Dpup 5.28 iso is my guess for best results. Burn iso to cd using any OS. Boot EEE to cd. Install to SDHC card, using universal installer. That keeps the original OS intact. I still have xandros on my 4 GB 900a. Many Pups run ...

Lost my wireless network icon in the tray
I hosed my 5.28 somehow. I can connect automatically to the wifi networks I use, but no icon shows in the right side of the tray. (It used to). I'd like to get it back without having to do a fresh install. I've been running Puppy since 4.03B, and this is the first time I've had this happen. Maybe no...

Remove FF 17 ESR from Slacko 5.7
Slacko 5.7 has FF 17 ESR built in. I would like to replace it with FF 33. Any ideas how to do it?

Pecise 5.7.1 problems
I feel like a new newbie. I've been using 5.25 and decided to update to 5.7.1 Precise. EEEpc w/ 1.6GHz Atom 2 GB RAM. I installed 5.7.1 to a fresh SDHC 16 GB card. Boots fine; Everything works so far. However, glx gears is showing much slower frame rates than it did under 5.25 w/ xorg-hi driver. So ...

OO4 .sfs is what I use, as I don't need OO loaded at start every day. Use load with sfs on the fly as needed.

THX, mike. Yes, i tried my individual inet addy.... 198.162.0.3 for the win 7 box. Still refused to connect. I checked /etc/hosts on my Puppy Lucid box and noticed that there were 3 or 4 ip addys, but they had a 1 instead of a 0. should I change the hosts file? BTW. The setup consists of an Actionte...

rdesktop problem
rdesktop won't connect. Connection refused error. Both my Puppy and win 7 boxes have the same IP address.... it;s the router address. Any idea of what I'm doing wrong. I run rdesktop (IP address) from console, with no luck. Win 7 has allow remote connection checked. I can ping my router, but I can't...
