FYI - I have an Acer Aspire One ZG5 running Puppy 5.5, earlier than the D250, I loaded the PET and while it did not see the card reader initially, it did after a reboot.
Many thanks, dawnsboy.

CUPS did not detect the networked printer. I chose setup pf an LPD printer. I put the address in manually, and pointed it to the PPD file created by the debbi utility. Quite a few misses with installed non-existent printers until I got the correct address. BTW, I set up a second install and didn't p...

Got Dlink DPR1260 working
Just wanted to post some info on this, which may help others, The setup was pretty simple in the end, but it took a half day to figure out, The Dlink DPR1260 is 4 port print server that can run off ethernet or Wifi. It's no longer sold, but I think it's a nice box. I have a Brother DCP-7040 hooked u...

I have resorted to a SDHC card + USB adapter. A small class 10 SDHC card absolutely flies. The card should never be written to after the operating system is connected to the internet. I like the fact that if the running form does get penetrated the next reboot is clean. .... Am I paranoid or what :...

The settings manager also enables you to deactivate Flash's ability to turn on your webcam and microphone . They are watching: be afraid, be very afraid ... Heh. I wish I could activate my laptops webcam under puppy but have been unable to ID the right drivers, so I doubt that a robot script could ...

If you got pics and stuff on the old drives, get a $20 USB enclosure and mount the drive. Then read it with another machine and save off what you need. Caution. Don't use a windows PC. Boot up Puppy or Linux or use a MAC. If the drive has an autorun.inf virus, it will jump right onto your good windo...

Mplayer pet installs and crashes in 4.3 [Solved]
I've tried it both ways, downloading the packages/codecs and doing it from the install console with the preselected packages. I get two windows upon starting mplayer, but the system is hung. Mouse trail is all that happens. Searched and found this is an old bug reported a year ago on 4.2 with no res...

I've run Puppy release 2 on a Compaq 1230, which only had 96 MB of RAM and it seemed to work fine as a browser with a LAN connection. Ran faster than windows 98SE anyway. I could never get the wireless card to run though, but Puppy found all the other drivers including the LAN card. I am running rel...

You are right, MikeB. Px and PT work and give different sizes, and I was mistakenly omitting the second * before the first curly bracket. Here's my CSS file now. Is a closing curly brace is needed? Works w/o it. /* * Do not remove the @namespace line -- it's required for correct functioning */ @name...

Then I looked at the SeaMonkey css file which is...

FYI - Believe I figured out how to use Panzerkopf's file. I made another remaster, this time using the modded rc.sysinit file. I no longer get the two error messages, but the two files were still left unzipped. New error message about /sys not being mounted. The new rc.sysinit was there though after...

Remastering Problems - missing files on boot [SOLVED]
I remastered a 4.3.1 boot CD with the specific options for my desktop and had no problems. I've also remastered 4.11 w/o problems for it and another desktop. Now I have tried this several times on my laptop, and I get CD's that will boot and load the pup-save file properly from HD or USB pen drive. ...

Thank you for the explanations. I appreciate the replies and apologize for the time it has taken to get back. I have not installed to HD yet.
