The 1020 is partially supported by HPLIP available here http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=27519 I recommend the full HPLIP instead of the light version. It's a bit of work to install it all but worth it. More information http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/models/laserjet/hp_laserjet...

Hi Mike, This drive isn't like a SanDisk This had 4MB blank at the start of the drive. Anyway, I took the plunge and used dd to zero out the entire drive. GParted listed it as an unknown partition type at that point so I deleted it and formatted the entire flash drive to fat32. GParted now shows 14....

Almost strictly Puppy. 99%+, both at work and at home. I have to use doze for two sets of PLC programming software sometimes at work, but even so, that Windows is run inside of Puppy 4.12 with VMWare player. I have my CAD running in wine now. Hmm, maybe I will try a newer wine and see about that PLC...

Suspicious of new flash drive
I just bought a brand new Transcend 8 GB flash drive with the idea of installing Puppy on it. I plugged it in to see if it was really blank. Nope. It had a bonus folder with a windows exe in it. My tin foil hat is in effect now so I deleted the folder & exe. Rox shows that it is empty. I fired u...

You can also look at /usr/share/doc for release-2.14.htm and release-2.14r.html files, here you can find all changes made to 2.14R, and find any change made by Dougal and tempestous. Thanks clarf, I'll look those up. I don't have the ISO yet or a working burner at the moment, but I can wait. :) I...

ICPUG, During testing I installed to an XP that was on a second slave drive hd1,0 and got the exact same error. Changing the menu.lst from hd0,0 to hd1,0 booted Puppy. We need ecomoney to weigh in on this and tell us what works. I have read that Windows always regards <windows root> as c:\ but I wa...

Thanks for the support and input. After spending a good deal of time researching this my inclination is to pass on Vista. Too many hurdles and pitfalls for me. Sometimes I get the feeling that MS is going out of it's way to put up road blocks for the average Joe wanting to contaminate their computer...

An auto resizing pup_save would not be difficult to implement. The needed support scripts are already in Puppy. Another script executed at the beginning of rc.shutdown could check the pup_save space and available partition space then offer to resize on the next boot. The 4 series Pups already warn w...
