Hi Disciple,
Thanks for the suggestion. I had a go at the fc-cache command and read up on it and tried a few other things but still no luck.
I will probably use Open Office instead as it can print ok with the MS TTF fonts installed. Its a pity as SoftMaker Office is quite good.
Cheers,
Mark

Hello again, I have been toying around trying to get my printer to work with Softmaker. What I have found is that after installing the program it will print OK, but if I then import some new fonts (MS ttf) into /user/share/fonts/ttf it will then not print. I was wondering if anyone knew why this was...

I have correctly installed my printer (Kyocera LM-250) with the CUPS manager, and am able to print with Abiword- but when I go to print with Textmaker / Pl...

Hello again, I just tried to run Open Office using the SFS file- thinking my constant need to register everytime I opened an OO application may have been due to the fact that I was running it as a PET. But it keeps on asking me to register each time I open a app. Has anyone else experienced this pro...

Hi guys, Thanks for the tutorial Burn_IT. I was able to get Virtualbox up and running on a frugal install- well done! I was just wondering if anyone had been able to get it working on a full install? I have tried mounting the SFS files (which look to have mounted correctly- but they don't seem to be...

I installed Vuppy after I had 4.2 installed. Lucky enough I had a bit of room on my HDD, then created another partition and installed Vuppy (also had to update my grub). So when I boot the machine I now have an option to run one or another. I'd prefer it if I could get everything to run under the on...

Hi Shinzon, I had the same dilemma with respect to what to do about Virtualbox. In the end I had to install two versions of Puppy. If I want to use Virtualbox I boot up Vuppy. Although Vuppy doesn't support my sound card- so I also have installed Puppy 4.1.2 which I use if I want sound. I can execut...

Vuppy no sound
Hello, I am a newb and am trying to get a Puppy 4x (pref. 4.1.2) version working with both sound and virtualbox. I have come across Vuppy which is fantastic, although I can't seem to get the sound working for it. My sound works on Puppy 4.1x with no problem. I also notice that I can't get sound to w...
