Starhawk your litte reading made my eyes turn wet :) Thanks again for this extensive journey into the world of little PC's and their capabilities running Puppies and their up- and downsides. What I am going to do is that I will compare my R16 and other alternatives against the Dell Inspirion. May be...

Yeah, you gave lots of information :) Best was, ehm, that part about puppy, hihi. Ok, you gave me the hint. Each time I move to new hardware the first must is to make a clean frugal install with a fresh save? Tehn do a reboot and 'overwrite' the fresh save with my old one? You see, I always thought ...

Hello I like to have the same puppy at home on my pc and on the road on one of my damn clumsy laptops. That is no problem since we have the superb grub4dos and I use frugal installs. But how can I share or sync my settings between my pc's? Until recently I just synced the whole puppy folder (lupus a...

Actually, I altered my Grub start line a bit before I got 5.28 running for the first time. As I wrote above I had to add pfix=nox (no-X) for the first run. Then I could reboot without entering X but Puppy create its first safe file. Then I bootet another OS and deleted this pfix=nox. With the result...

Then, all the other stuff is on several partitions of HD1. This is as SATA drive. Puppy sits in a subdir and there is also the savefile. Ehm, yes, partion of ...

Lucid528 now kernel panic -- not syncing
Dear readers, first I could bring Puppy V5.xy to save settings. With forum's help I finally could. Had to add to my frugal grub4dos install a pfix=nox. After going manually into X and making things I prefer I could restart and reboot Puppy with saved settings. This went good for two times I think so...
