Hi, just wanted to say thanks for a puppy that finally works on my old thinkpad. Lucid would crash every time I tried to install a pet. It works great, except I do a lot of document work in Google Docs which is not supported by the seamonkey browser. Could anyone direct me on how to install the lat...

Why does full install to IDE-CF use EXTLINUX instead of GRUB
Installed TurboPup Xtreme v1 to Dell C400 with dual IDE-CF adapter installed with two 4GB CF cards formatted ext2. Works great and I really enjoy TP-X snappy performance and minimalist interface. My question is why does a full install through PUI to 'CF card in an IDE adapter' media result in EXTLIN...

seems that rainy stays on some versions of puppy and others it goes where it wants to. i haven't a clue why. also on classic pup there are 3 xwindows on the taskbar which is very annoying. Thanks for the reply. Rainlendar should be 'notified' by the window manager of the change in the Rainlendar wi...

Can't lock windows
Hey MaxPro4U - I keep my Rainy calendar, etc locked in the upper right corner of my Windows desktop. I've tried for all I'm worth to lock them in the same place on my TurboPup Xtreme desktop but everytime I drag them over there and then open the options dialog to re-check the 'Lock windows' item, cl...

I have no idea what is going on-my htop shows 0-1% cpu for rainy. I placed rainy folder in my c: drive and just put a relative link in the startup folder in each puppy i use. Thanks for the feedback - I'll uninstall and start from the beginning again. Maybe my .ini file is causing some problems. I'...

Re: Rainlendar2
Rainlendar is one of my favorite windows desktop apps. The free version does everything I need. I was very happy to find that there is a linux version available. Get it here. http://www.rainlendar.net/cms/index.php?option=com_rny_download&Itemid=32 I've run the Win32 version for years on a WinX...

Right .... I now found that I can use menu opened by right mouse click ..... and build my own desktop eventually. But there seems to be a strange limitation in seamonkey/google in puppies older than 431: it/they cannot find most of the websites I am interested in, especially my preferred site/searc...

Chrome on TPE?
Has anyone installed Chrome on TurboPup Xtreme v1.0? I've tried the most recent stable version packaged as a PET - it installs but won't run.

Re: Belkin Wireless USB Stick F5D7050 V1 ZD1211RW
Have Lucid Puppy 5 as full install on a Dell C400 mini-laptop. Works well with one exception - cannot connect wifi to any access point that has a SPACE in the SSID. The local coffee shop changed wifi routers and adjusted their SSID from "ThirdPlace" (no spaces) to "Third Place" ...

Re: Belkin Wireless USB Stick F5D7050 V1 ZD1211RW
Hi, I installed 5.0.1 and have run into problems with connecting to my wireless network. It worked fine with 4.3.1 right out of the box. I am using a Belkin Wireless USB Stick - F5D7050 V1, and trying to connect using the ZD1211RW Module. When I try to scan for my non broadcasting wireless network ...

Do they now allow extensions with Chrome? I guess I'm a little behind the times! Thanks, Jack Yes - the only version of Chrome that runs on Linux is the most recent beta. Re: Bookmarks sync
I like this, very clean, very light and after years with Firefox I have reluctantly changed to Chrome, which is so much faster. My main need is for bookmarks sync, which is supported on the version you have included, but it needs to be passed the parameters --enable-sync. I tried editing the deskto...

I get an error when I try to install. I'm running MacPup (based on 4.3.1) and I get a .pet file of just under 4mb when I download from tuuxx - is this correct? When I click on it the Pkg Mgr launches and asks if I want to install - I click Yes and then I get an error. No real details in the msg - ju...
