Please don't tell that this mediainfo is another CLI utility that Puppy doesn't have.
mediainfo just gives information about media files (just as the name implies). Precise 5.7.1 has it in the package manager.

Thank you 666philb for building this! However, I tried both the .sfs and the .pet that you linked at the beginning of this thread, and when I type "openshot" in a terminal, I get the following message: Added /usr/share/openshot to system path ------------------------- ERROR 1 -------------...

very simple "GUI" for a CLI applecation (here: mediainfo)

I remember I once had a MediaInfo GUI that worked but that was three reinstalls ago. MediaInfo is a useful little program to get information about media files - as the name implies. It only works from command line. I got a .deb package for a GUI but it didn't work due to missing dependencies that I ...

Hello starhawk,

I'm using chromium-43.0.2357.132.sfs from where this thread started, and I also installed the above mentioned lib6+libstdc6-4.9.2.pet.
What do you need to know about my hardware, apart from what my signature says?

JACK does not start

Hello, once I used Ardour with JACK on my computer. Then I ruined my frugal install with some desastrous experiment, and it didn't boot anymore, so I set up a new frugal install. The old pupsave.3sf doesn't exist anymore. Now I'm trying to get the Ardour/JACK combination to run again, but JACK does ...

I just downloaded and installed it. Runs only with --disable-setuid-sandbox option. Chromium says this option affects security and stability. Can I do anything about that?

how important are ulimit settings?

Hello, I'm using Ardour 4.6, and every time I started it it told me that the locked memory was limited which might cause it (Ardour) to run out of memory. I now added this line to /etc/profile: ulimit -l unlimited This is about "max locked memory". It had been limited to 64 KB before but I...

Plugin installation?

Thank you scabz! I was using Studio One in Windows, and Ardour seems a good choice for Linux.
Does anyone know how to install plugins? I found some LADSPA plugins to download but how do I get Ardour to find them?

Thank you

is there a reliable way to play flash content?

Hello, recently, Mozilla Firefox often tells me that the flash plugin is vulnerable and should be updated. However, I have version 11,2,202,535 installed, which AFAIK is the last linux version. It refuses the "always activate" option and is now running in "alway ask" mode. That w...

"shockwave flash" installed but website says "no flash"

Hello,

I run firefox 37.0.2 with the "shockwave flash 11.2.202.535" plugin, but this website:
http://learn.arabiconline.eu/entry-level-arabic/
says there is no flash player and asks me to install.
Can someone tell me what's wrong here? Is this a firefox issue?

thank you[/url]
