Ben, Do you have anything maybe, anyone could work on? The only thing I accomplished was swapping x86 binaries with PPC ones in the initrd, that way the ISO would boot. The main problem was I don't know how to put a linux OS into a squashfs file. (Well, I kinda do. But reading how and knowing how a...

Hey mm, It's okay that that you share my work and progress. If there are PPC Linux users out there, somewhere, that are more experienced than I, wanting to take the challenge of porting puppy, then by all means do share. ;) Speaking of PowerPup, I plan on working on it again this summer, hopefully I...

Thanks for the link ChiJoan. It will come in handy very much. :D Well I guess I should give a little update. I've been thinking some more on exactly how I should approach building PowerPup. And I think I've come to the conclusion that I can't exactly make (at least not easily with my skill,) a PPC p...

I'd been meaning to post this earlier this month, but never got around to it. :P Anyway, things are getting a little tight financially so I'm going to need to find a summer job this year. So that probably means no time for working on the PowerPup project this summer. Which makes me really sad becaus...

New update: I tried messing both with the T2-method and a bit will Woof (by modifying the woof script to use the Ubuntu PPC repositories,) and..... Well, this isn't going to be easy. :P Using the T2-method (which will be the most likely route,) something wasn't working right in the download script. ...

Hey all, just wanted to give an update. Lately I haven't done anything with the project because of schooling. But when I do get back to working on the PowePup project I may try from a whole other aspect. With the recent updates to Puppy's T2 method, I think it would be overall easier and more effici...

Re: yaboot
BTW I noticed that folks on nubus and newer versions like the lenny live have been using either yaboot or miboot to boot their various versions. Are you able to use those to boot your powerpup? Vito Since the nubus team don't really have a stable 2.6 kernel right now. I'm focusing on the NewWorld M...

Thanks vito. I'll try it out.... Ugh, that make two distros I know that have smaller than DVD but larger than CD isos. That live CD is about 810MB, That's less than 1/4 of a DVD, and the ubuntu 9.10 PPC CD is about the same. I'm aware that there are 90min CD-Rs out there, but not every store has tho...

Thought I'd give an update. Well, I started messing with the T2 sources and scripts. Following Barry's steps, but I guess I was doing a little too much at one time or something because my Mac froze! No response from the mouse or keyboard! So I pressed reset and let it boot Mac OS X, it's the...

MacLife mentions PuppyLinux!
However, server software performs best when the operating system uses a minimal amount of system resources, so we will be using a pared down version of Linux for this tutorial. We recommend Crunchbang Linux, a variant of Ubuntu that uses the lightweight OpenBox window manager, or Puppy Linux. Thoug...

Thanks stlouisubntu. :D While the idea for taking debian packages (or slackintosh) and repackaging them would be good for making pet packages. (As there are none for PPC yet. :P ) It wouldn't really work for developing the core system of PowerPup. Actually that's the idea of Barry's woof scripts, ta...

I could even help with that. ;) ) But anyway, thanks for all your encouragement. :D i could not find a link to yr pup at that moment. You can find the latest beta iso her...

Yes, Foxit Reader does support bookmarking. It's in the navigation panel on the left. Open it up and add a bookmark.steve_s wrote: Does Foxit support bookmarking? What have you used that does support bookmarking? Maybe we can track something down and make it useful for Puppy...

Acerpup seems to realize he made a mistake, and want to make it right. Let's ease up on him a bit and see how he does. This entire post like I said originally was purely from being inspired to get people informed about the IRC mood and to say hey lets get this distro to #1 and make it the best it c...
