I don't know what happened to Dougal's link...it was there when I made my post above.
You could send him a PM to re-post it.
I can email the *.pet it to you if you need me to.

Sounds like the same problems I was having. The update/patch posted by Dougal in this thread will also fix the missing GPRS Setup menu.

USB to Serial Converter under Wine
I need to connect to an OTC/Genisys automotive diagnostic scan tool / oscilloscope to transfer images from the scope to my laptop running Puppy 4.2 frugal. In WinXP, its pretty straight forward: The scope has its own ethernet port and ethernet to 9-pin serial cable, which I then connect to a Belkin ...

Go to the folder /usr/lib/cups/filter Locate the file foomatic-rip-hplip and open it in a text editor The only file I find is a symlink foomatic-rip (no -hplip), and a psearch for foomatic didn't locate anything with -hplip. Did I botch something in steps 1-7? (And my HP Deskjet D4260 isn't working...

ePDF Viewer Screen Position (Solved)
I was reading the Wine user manual (not that that's relevant, just want you to know I'm trying! :) ) using ePDF to read it. I moved the window to access another program, and apparently I moved the bar at the top of the window, where you click with a mouse to drag it, off the top of my screen. Now, I...

Thank you both! I'll download Seamonkey email and try that option first because it seems simpler. Beem: I tried running Pegasus/Wine under Ubuntu Jaunty on my desktop at work, and the File / Network Setup menu entry was not there, so I couldn't do anything in terms of setting up my email account! An...

New Feature Request for Email
I've been using Pegasus mail excusively for 6-7 years; now I'm trying the various flavors that come with Puppy and Ubuntu. A feature I really, really miss is what Pegasus calls "Selective Mail Download" where it gets a list of messages from the server and then lets you choose to Delete/Don...

The same two problems noted in my first post still exist in Pup 4.2.
Fortunately, the fix posted by Dougal still works.

Need more info...
Have you installed Puppy, and if yes, which version? What are your computer specs? Do you have any Linux experience? I use a Sierra Aircard 881 with Puppy 4.1. I'm very new to Linux, but I'll see if I can help. I'm using mine as a cellular phone dial-up modem, as opposed to a wifi type connection. h...

Attention GPRS Developers!!!!!!!!
may be bug in puppy 4.1.2 What does ripple do? I read through a thread about it, but still wasn't sure what it's purpose was. To further aggravate things, if I boot up with a USB-Serial converter plugged into my laptop, Puppy chooses it for the modem instead of the Sierra Aircard...talk about some ...

Questions about Virtual Machines, Dual Boots & Emulators
Over the years I've been finding myself getting more and more annoyed with how Windows works, and am now migrating into Linux. (Meaning I'm choosing to be annoyed by Linux now instead of Windows.) :) Anyway, I have 6-8 specialized programs which I use extensively that have no Linux equivalents, and ...

After clicking the button on the right, nothing happens.
Quoting myself from my first post: When I went to recheck my settings, I found that apparently the GPRS Setup screen can only be accessed one time-then you can never get it to show up again. After clicking on the "Internet by Wireless GPRS Modem" button, nothing happens, and accessing it t...

Hp D4260
I wish I'd found this thread 3 days ago! I had quite a time getting my HP (Deskjet) D4260 to print with Puppy 4.1.2. When I first ran CUPS, it showed my printer connected to USB1, but nothing would print. Printing the test page caused the lights on the printer buttons to go nuts, so I knew there was...

Sierra Wireless Aircard 811
Hi All! First post here. :) I installed Pupply a few days ago; the download and initial installation went fine.
