Hi nooby. I just added 39_puppy. I have something else in 40_custom. I could've added the Puppy entries in 40_custom, though, but since I was trying to figure the correct entry I chose to add a separate file. The name doesn't matter, only the number. The =root that's needed is the one after --set an...
I boot Wary 5.3 frugal from the HD with grub 1.99, version 19.fc17 from Fedora. My /etc/grub.d/39_puppy: #!/bin/sh exec tail -n +3 $0 # This file provides an easy way to add custom menu entries. Simply type the # menu entries you want to add after this comment. Be careful not to change # the 'exec t...
When I uninstalled the 260.16 package and then ran rmmod nvidia, the message said there was no nvidia module on /lib/proc/modules (or somewhere like that). So maybe while it was ticked to be installed besides the driver, the kmod package I think plus one another, maybe they weren't installed? Anyway...
Argolance, I didn't understand how you made it work. For me nvidia-settings doesn't work because the nvidia driver doesn't work (it's using vesa actually, althoug I can change to nv but that uses a different screen size - not resolution).
I think I'll try the upstream driver directly as did drblock2.
I installed the NVIDIA 260.19 driver from PPM and I'm having a strange issue. The driver is working but nvidia-settings tells me to run nvidia-xconfig to configure xorg.conf properly. The problem is that xorgwizard sets xorg.conf with Driver "vesa" #card0driver instead of "nvidia"...
Hi, does this pup see ext4? Because I extracted the files (initrd.gz pup_214X.sfs vmlinuz zdrv_214X.sfs) to the HD but it keeps saying 'Cannot find media on 'idehd'' (or 'atahd'). If I remove 'PMEDIA=idehd' it says it can't find files on 'idecd'. First I tried with title Puppy 214X (sda2/214Xfrugal)...
As with Quirky 1.3, the br-abnt2 keyboard choice from the first run wizard is broken. I have no idea how to fix that, what I can say is that choosing "abnt2" as the keyboard model in the advanced mouse and keyboard wizard sets the keyboard correctly. I suppose this latter wizard edits xorg...
I left the script like this: #!/bin/bash DIALOG=dialog || DIALOG=dialog [ ! -f /etc/hosts.usr ] && touch /etc/hosts && cp -f /etc/hosts /etc/hosts.usr #echo 127.0.0.1 localhost puppypc >/etc/hosts #r1 maybe user added others for x in `$DIALOG --stdout --checklist "Choose your ad...
that is odd - could it be that your /bin/sh is pointing to dash? Yes, I'm in Debian. I have bash installed too and it's the default interactive shell as set in /etc/adduser.conf (I saw that in Debian's wiki and confirmed here). Also, just for information, /bin/sh.distrib links to bash: lrwxrwxrwx 1...
Hope not to be hacking this forum thread, but I'm interested in technosaurus' version because it can be run even from the cli. The latest version still didn't work, it creates a /tmp/adlist{1,2,3,4} but it's empty and so its links too. root@debian:/tmp# ls -l total 1460 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 618540...
Thank you technosaurus, that's even better (using just the terminal). I don't know bash (or whatever scripting language). I left it like this: #!/bin/sh DIALOG=dialog || DIALOG=dialog for x in `$DIALOG --stdout --checklist "Choose your ad blocking service(s)" 0 0 4 1 "mvps.org" O...
technosaurus, sc0ttman or whoever, could you adapt the script to use yad?
I'm using Debian and wouldn't like to install gtkdialog or xdialog since they're considered deprecated.
There's still no support for the Brazilian keyboard layout. If you want to get this right maybe you should include shinobar's Countrywizard (this does work - and I suspect not only for the Brazilian keymap but for others as well that may be broken in Lupu and also just for the fact that one can chan...
I confirm that after changing the locale to pt_BR the fallback language (for those apps that don`t have a translation) is really English. It had been an eastern European language in my first try but that may have been influenced by some random thing or whatever (I can`t point now what may have cause...
Also as Lupu doesn't come with much localized files, is there a .pet or something that fetches all the localization files for the default applications that come in the live-CD? We are certainly trying to accommodate localization and language support. Many of the main programs already have language ...
