I don't do much more than use my phone as a phone but it does have an mp3 player and a camera that i use sometimes. If I ever decide I want to do more with a phone I am going with one that runs Android, or maybe Moblin? I know a guy that has a google phone and it has a terminal emulator! I wish ther...

i dunno abought xbmc i always liked myth tv. and there is a puppy of that floating somewhere. I think it is kind of an apples and oranges comparison. Myth tv doesn't integrate all of the web content like Boxee (oops you said xbmc, I just noticed that). Well, anyway what I was getting at was XBMC/Bo...

Thank you techno. I stand corrected. It is really cool what hey have done. It does not look like it is done yet though, even when it is it doesn't look like it will be very noob friendly. It will be interesting to see where they go with it though. I will probably play with it in virtualbox someday. ...

I wish for a less confusing file system. Just giving the folders names that actually give you a clue as to what is inside of them would be a HUGE improvement. As it is, when I open My Computer (not sure what else to call it) I get thoroughly lost very fast. To change the filesystem the way you are ...

Mint install (included in Linux Mint) is pretty cool too. It gives you reviews and a screenshot. It can also list software by rating/popularity.

While MS is definitely an evil giant hell-bent on earning and not really giving a darn about the customers I feel that there's something not right about trying to smash them from all sides. I agree. The "anything goes if it hurts MS" way of thinking that we Linux users gravitate toward is...

Circular, Wrapping, Gantt "Window" Graph

I need to make a chart that defines a window. I've googled for about an hour and can't come up with anything. A Gantt chart is the closest thing that I could find but I need it to start over or wrap like a clock. I drew up an example of what I am looking for. Where the "start" will be in o...

Ecomoney..you say you get better full screen performance on wine. Now this slightly defies logic....or did but then after doing a bit of reaseach I wonder if in wine the flashplayer is able to use hardware acceleration, whilst on native linux it cannot due to the crap hardware detection method if y...

CPU ondemand has nothing to do with it. It just keeps your CPU cooler and slower. CPU on demand will scale down your CPU frequnecy when it is not needed, allowing it to drop the voltage and does save power. I am no dev but I could see it affecting flash performance if it did not know that it needed...

I have also had isues with gnash. The only reason I really even care about flash support is for video sites like youtube (I dont't mind if ads dont work). Most of the time I just download the flv and watch it with vlc. Which raises the question, is there a .pet for the vlc embedded flash player? yes...

It is working better thank you ttuxxx. Still not so great on fullscreen but about as good as XP performs on the same PC. Wouldn't you agree though that Adobe has neglected Linux for whatever reason and that the software could be better? I mean, on the same PC it handles higher res videos in other fo...

You said you were using Window$ 7 though so I don't know what to tell you. Not that I like or support M$ at all but to be fair you shouldn't be using an RC for comparison with an official version of something else. Yes, but Vista still causes us a lot more grief than Windows 7... thankfully I have ...

I can sort music files by name date created, date modified, artist, album, and on and on. makes sorting that random junk which always gathers on your drive easier to go through. Rox doesn't even come close to the convenience Well you can sort by Name, type, permissions, owner, group, size and last ...

@ 37fleetwood I am not a developer so what I am about to say is only from what I have read although I have seen many complaints about this same subject. Maybe some of the devs on here can approve or disprove this. When I said that Ubuntu was bloated I meant more along he lines of sloppy programming....

Yea, I use Mint for my main OS and play with various puppies here and there. I think that talking to grey about some .pets is a good idea. Then getting those up on Ibiblio would be great also.
