Solved (sort of). I get the same results when connecting the phone to a Windows 10 box. Either there no pictures stored on the phone or there is a problem with the phone's filesystem. A colleague at the local computer club ("Computer Pals for Seniors -the Hills") for other Sydney based Pup...

How can I connect Pixel 2 phone to my Fatdog64-810 (Solved)

I have a Pixel 2 running Android 10 which has developed a serious fault. The phone will ring but there is nothing to swipe to answer the call. Everything else seems normal. I have not been able to find anything in the settings that might explain this behaviour and am, in desperation, considering a f...

Fatdog64-810 Final "Save RAM Layer" button (Solved)

I have been happily running Fatdog64-810 for several months. The only minor annoyance was that the file system check on boot up was taking a long time. I recently replaced the hard drive with an SSD and reinstalled the system. The file system check on the new save folder was quite quick. I have also...

How can I mount a savefile in Fatdog64-800? (solved)

On this box I am running a frugal installation of Fatdog64-800 with several savefiles in /mnt/home. They are: fd64saveJan.ext4 fd64saveKen.ext4 fd64saveKen.bak fd64saveLiz.ext4 fd64saveOriginal.ext4 When booting I am offered the choice of which of the five files to use. fd64saveKen.bak is a copy of ...

"OFFEN" or "OFT-EN?"

I am surprised that this thread has gone on this long without anyone raising the use of the pronunciation of "often" as part of the plot in Gilbert & Sullivans "The Pirates of Penzance"

Request google-earth sfs for Fatdog64-800b (Solved)

On the box with built in NVIDIA graphics I had to compile an NVIDIA driver and add a symbolic link /lib64/ld-lsb-x86-64.so.3 -> ld-2.27.so I used the google earth 7.1.8 SFS that I made for my laptop. James' google-earth2019.02.sfs crashed on this computer but that may reflect on the capabilities of ...

EXT2 EXT3 EXT4 questions

AIUI journaling does nothing to correct corrupted files. It merely speeds up the file system check by indicating files which were not being written when the improper shutdown took place. An old rule of thumb said that a journal was worthwhile on filesystems bigger than 2 GB.

How to make Google-Earth SFS for Fatdog64-800b?

I will mark this thread _SOLVED_. Adding the link as suggested by SFR fixed the problem so I did not investigate Step's solution.

I will now try James Bonds package on another computer.

Many thanks for responding.

Request google-earth sfs for Fatdog64-800b

Many thanks for your quick response Mike. I already had google-earth 7.1.8.3036 working in my "every day" puppy i.e. xenialpup647.5frugal so now I have to remove traces of my bungled attempts to install it in Fatdog64-800b then make a working sfs package from one of your pets. I will make ...

Attempting to start the original googleearth_amd64_patched.sfs from a terminal produced the result shown in the attached file.
