Thanks for that insight. Looking more closely at my status bar, I suspect it is the googleads script that is causing the problem for the PII processor in my old Dell Latitude CS. I did find a useful description of how to set the dom.max_script_run_time at http://blog.taragana.com/index.php/archive/f...

The description of the minimal systems by benali72 fits my outfit well. I have a Dell Latitude CS with PII, 4gb HD and 256mb RAM. I am running the latest 4.2.1 Puppy with frugal install and am very satisfied with the performance. The only thing I can't do is watch any kind of streaming video because...

I don't know yet what the problem script was, but switching to Firepup has resolved the issue for me.

Slashdot script interruption
Every new page I view at Slashdot with either Firefox or Seamonkey brings up "Warning: Unresponsive script". Is there something I can turn off or on to get around this?

The card is recognized by the built-in Puppy module, and it performs well. My minor quibble with this card is that th...

re: latitude laptop
I'm facing a similar challenge with a Latitude CS. I came across a possible solution which is to remove the hd and attach it to my desktop with a ide-usb adapter cable. One then does a frugal install to the hd. Apparently a full hd install will not work properly as the installation would take into a...
