666philb, you're a star !!! 8) 8) 8) I did what you said, but told PPM to doanload files only- that's so that I can copy them later to a memory stick and install on my father's PC. Then I clicked on all the deb files and installed them, doing the two gthumb ones last because the other files are depe...

stu91, thanks, that's a partial solution, was hoping to get a lightweight viewer that would just print though. Firefox prints a header/footer too. I could turn it off, but header/footers are useful when printing web pages. musher0, thanks also, tried mtpaint and peasyprint but it's not too great. Fi...

Looking for lightweight image viewer (Solved)

Hoping that someone can help me. My father is running lupu 5.2.5 with dialup internet access, so any downloads are very time consuming. We wanted a lightweight image viewer which can allow him to print if required. Nothing too complicated would be good. I would like a PET so that I can pop it onto a...

I got the Conexant working by copying the /lib/modules/2.6.30.5/hcfpcimodem folder from one system to another, but found that the Conexant PCI dropped connection every so often. Possibly that's a hardware problem. It doesn't matter, as I've now bought a proper external modem (Hayes Accura V.92) whic...

I've now tried the puplet pup-431-scsi-intel_modems.iso and it detects/uses the Conexant PCI modem. Connect speed appears to be good

So all I need to do now is move one (or all of) the modem drivers from this puplet to BoxPup. Is there an easy way to do that?

Conexant HCF V90 PCI, or WebExcel 56000 serial port modem?

Hi, Hoping that someone can help. I have an old PC that I'm building for my father with BoxPup 431. Have a PCI card from his old PC, Conexant HCF V90 (it says RH56D) but Pupdial probes don't work at all. I have seen that Conexant drivers are speed-limited to 14.4K so I thought that rules this one ou...

Thanks for the amazingly quick reply and I'm glad to report that it's working now!

I just changed the first file , /usr/bin/foomatic-gswrapper , then restarted cups and the test print worked. Many thanks for your help!

@rcrsn51, thanks for the help. I changed the file and restarted cups - still get the error. I then rebooted and tried again - same error. The log file has this - wondered if the 'inappropriate ioctl' bit had any bearing on it. Sorry, managed to miss that line in my earlier post: Closing renderer ren...
