You can delete the folder manually, create a script to delete the folder with one click i.e. rm -rf /root/.macromedia or there is a firefox a...

ttuuxxx: If you are changing it can I make a comment. I have never liked any of the Gparted in any Puppy as they all make you go out of and then back into Gparted if you want to look at another drive. Whereas other distros make use of the selection box top right corner and allow you to drop down to...

Hi ttuuxxx, trying X11. Wireless connection fine. Gxine o.k. until trying Download.avi in /root/puppy-reference/video which crashes the system, so back to the newer gxine version I suppose. I notice xine libs is numbered 1.26 yet the website says 1.16 is the latest version, is this a numbering error...

Concerning flash on/off, theres a firefox addon called Toolbar Buttons. One of them lets you toggle flash on & off. This is one of my essential addons.

Hi ttuuxxx, just tried X8, I like to set rox Options-Display-Icon View to automatic so big folders show small icons, this is messed up making everything squashed up. Hi keef, try this, go to /etc/X11/ & open as text xorg.conf. Scroll down to line 102 which might read:- Option "XkbLayout" "us" #xkeymap0 change "us" for "gb", save the file & restart X. If that doesn't work & you don't mind starting from scratch j...

Hi Dave, just noticed 214X7 doesn't come with a Startup folder so as I see it when you installed versioninfo it created an ordinary folder to place the executable in which of course won't do anything. Hope this helps. Did someone mention startup folder??? Here ya go :) its also in the next release ...

However I am still concerned that /root/Startup doesn't seem to work in 214X, especially as it includes cron-check. Not sure what uses /root/Statup or would try to investigate myself. Any ideas?? Thanks again. Dave Hi Dave, just noticed 214X7 doesn't come with a Startup folder so as I see it when y...

If you click the new button on File-Roller and then at the bottom select "Other Options" it can encrypt files with a password and also it can split files into parts, kind of handy :) haven't tried it yet  ttuuxxx Hi ttuuxxx, out of interest I couldn't get the password option to work...

Hi ttuuxxx, just quickly tried file-roller. Opened tar, tar.gz, tar.bz2 & iso's no problem. As for pets if you convert them with pet2tgz first they extract fine. Pet2tgz can be placed with gtkhash & petget as a rox menu option.

ttuuxxx I just tried out 01micko's Versioninfo-1.6.pet and whilst it worked fine in Puppy 412 it doesn't in 214X. Specifically it will run by manual intervention ie from a terminal or by clicking the script but not automatically on boot or restarting the xserver. At the suggestion of 01micko I made...

Greetings everybody, I checked /initrd/sbin/init the initialization file when Puppy boots (actually Puppy first reads the simlink /initrd/linuxrc that points to init), searching a solution for the pup_save resize problem reported before. But in the way I found another feature that I miss in 2.14x, ...
