I tried out Gxine 0.4.6 with Puppy 1.0.5a2, also. Sometimes Gxine closed occasionally when in full screen mode, but most of the time it was fine. But I did change some of the settings. I remember specifically changing the video rendering interface from xshm to auto; the rest I can't remember. Maybe ...

Well, just because you don't get a reply (from Barry) on these forums doesn't mean that you're being ignored. The annnouncement that Gxine has been upgraded to 0.4.6 is on the news page under 19 August 2005. I tried it out with the Puppy 1.0.5a2 release yesterday. Looks better!

Well, I noticed that the news for August 18th says that: "Mozilla has been compiled from "nightly source", dated 16 August 2005, and this will most likely be in the next Puppy, and will be known as version 1.8b1.5." But what's interesting is that I just installed today's nightly ...

Well, after looking at the SeaMonkey Suite nightly builds over better, I see that there are some things that need changed before we include it with Puppy Linux. I'd say wait until at least the alpha or maybe even the beta release. Probably, would be good to update to the latest Mozilla Suite nightly...

Yeah, I agree. With all the time I took writing my first comment, I could have taken the same amount of time and put the needed info on the Wiki pages, but I don't know the answer(s) myself and I can't put packages.txt on the FTP server. Keep up the good work! FYI: My Wiki name is JeyRey. :)

Update Gxine to 0.4.6 (Updated)

I noticed on the Puppy Linux news page on the entry for 29 March 2005 that the reason why Gxine hasn't been updated to the latest version was that Puppy was "using the GTK 2.2 libraries and the latest Gxine needs GTK 2.4." But with the notes for Puppy Linux 1.0.4 (19 July 2005) it is menti...

How to download/install Unleashed/PupGet packages

The Puppy Unleashed page shows how to download all the packages via FTP when using Puppy Linux. But there is no file on the FTP server that describes what the packages are. It doesn't say that if Puppy is already installed that you can use the PupGet package manager included with Puppy and that with...

Where to find Puppy Linux Peer-2-Peer distribution points

I've updated the Wiki page that tells where to find Puppy Linux P2P file distribution points: http://www.goosee.com/puppy/wikka/PuppyP2PDistribution . It now has torrents for Puppy Linux 1.0.4 and Chubby Puppy Linux 1.0.4. It is a Wiki page so, of course, feel free to add any more info as appropriat...

The Mozilla Application Suite is now the SeaMonkey Project!

I went to download the latest nightly build of 1.8beta2, but found out that July 2nd was the last one available. It wasn't easy to find, but I found out that: "The Mozilla Foundation has announced that there won't be any more official releases of the Mozilla Application Suite, but they will pro...

OpenOffice.org package includes security patch?

I saw on the news page for today ( http://www.goosee.com/puppy/news.htm ) that there has been created a PupGet/Unleashed package of OpenOffice.org (OOo). But I didn't see it at ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/puppylinux/pupget_packages-1 , yet. I will assume by the size that it is v. 1.1.4...

J2SE(TM) Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 3 Multi-language (JRE-1.5.0_03): On the How To Install a DotPup page ( http://www.goosee.com/puppy/wikka/DotPups ) it says that "the latest version is 1.5.0_03, but it is not available yet on their manual download page." But actually you can download...
