Hello again. Have done more testing and still have the problem. Lowered resolution and the sony booted up good at times and then not at times. Put that machine down and pickup a jetbook and had the same problem with the same cd used in both machines. I am going to burn another cd and play with that....

Thanks Beem, I looked over the forum but couldn't find my problem. I have had this computer working on a higher resolution and everything works as it should so I guess that is the answer for this machine. I just don't like real small type and all at these higher resolutions. On laptops I like 800x60...
