foxpup I did the defrag as you suggested and then a chkdsk as bigpup suggested , re-installed Tahr 606, but the problem persists. I do a typical frugal install and edit the menu.lst. I am not familiar with using grub.cfg.
Anyway, I installed the latest Xenialpup instead and it loads fine.
foxpup This was originally a Lucid 528 install somebody made to go with Windows from several years ago. I installed the Tahr 6.0CE and never had a boot problem. I will probably uninstall this 606 and do the defrag and re-install. I am now getting some file errors and file fixes now when booting.
Upon further thought I decided the format of the save file wouldn't matter, I have the option in Grub to load without the save file, and it loads the same. I changed it anyway to ext2, 2 gigs. I went into BIOS and I changed startup from legacy bios to UEFI. No difference. It's not a horrible thing t...
The hard drive is formatted as ntfs - the laptop is shared with Windows7. The pup save is new, it is formatted as ext3. Which i'm thinking may be a mistake. Would ext2 be better? Not sure about the boot loader. First screen says Windows boot manager. I choose Puppy and second screen is Grub. Thanks ...
frugal installed 6.0.6 32 bit X doesn't immediately start. If I wait a couple minutes, the X dialogue appears and I can type xwin and the normal screen appears. I tried replacing the etc/X11/xorg.conf file with the one from my original Tahr 6.0CE, but it acts the same. This is a Lenovo Thinkpad with...
Here's where I'm at. According to this http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/adb.html , adb sets up a server and is bound to port 5037 where it listens for communication from the phone. I can't remember what the command was, but I verified that adb is doing this. So it appears that the...
Did as you requested. Uninstalled and installed from your post. Same results. Same error messages. I'll be away from my computer until Wed. so I won't be able to try anything more until then.
01micko, You're right, there is a gtk dialog error. # /usr/local/Startmount/Startmount /usr/local/Startmount/Startmount: line 110: kill: (1516) - No such process ok ** ERROR **: gtkdialog: Error in line 62, near token '</default>': syntax error aborting... /usr/local/Startmount/Startmount: line 430:...
Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same problem. I have a rooted Nexus One and I need adb working to modify the device. Adb seems to have installed correctly - it just doesn't recognize my phone. I saw in my research that using lsusb will list the device's ID which you would plug into the ...
Thanks for the response, and the posting attachments tip. I did as you suggested, found the original files in /initrd/pup_ro2 (frugal install) and copied the 2 that were different, Distro_pet_repos and pkgs_management into /root/.package and deleted the three package repo files whose title ended in ...
