Note this only affects certain cards... If you have modified /usr/local/bin/defaultbrowser to use firefox try adding LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libGL.so.1 before the firefox command You also would need the openGL libraries installed. I guess its for video acceleration in flash..yer never know. I have not ...

MythPuppy
Disclaimer: Although I've been acquainted with Linux for years, I have no in-depth knowledge of it. Think of it as "sorta living together". First: I'm cheap and currently unemployed. Second: I want to build a MythTV system that will allow me to record in HD, skip commercials, and som...

Problem fixed
Boot puppy CD/DVD into RAM, (by entering puppy pfix=ram in first few secs), then, on whatever unmounted partition your frugal is on, run: e2fsck -p /dev/sdaX replacing X with correct partition number. Back up and running. Thanks. I think I overwrote my original save file, though. System boot...

kernel panic - not syncing
Wanted to install the GCC compiler. Downloaded the devx*.sfs file, moved it to the "/" directory (location of pup_421.sfs). Selected "mount and install" from r-click menu. It failed but didn't pay attention to the message. Followed directions to reboot and received the fol...

cpu ondemand not much help
There's a post on the Flash Bug forum from someone claiming that setting CPU ondemand "fixes" the problem. My take? It fixes it, but only for part of the problem and only part of the way. Let me explain. I installed Trio's CPU Frequency Scaling pet . I then visited youtube selecting a rand...

FF 3.5 & Flash 10.x seem ok
At first glance, it seems the latest Firefox and Flash builds appear to be playing nicer than before on Puppy 4.21.
The jury remains undecided.

Re: Firefox
thanks for the tip, I downloaded puppy on Sunday and I have been trying to install FF because seamonkey will not render facebook properly. Exactly why I wanted Firefox again. If I'm not mistaken, SeaMonkey appears to be a reincarnated Netscape Navigator. Navigator had its day, 15 years ago, but tho...

I've been around the geek jargon block many, many times and I understood almost none of what you said. Either I'm really tired, or puppy lingo is a whole new animal. :? Are you saying run Flash 9.152 on Puppy 2.02 with the gtk-2.8.20 libraries? Cuz this Flash bug is really putting a damper o...

linux + flash + browser = Adobe bug
hi, Running puppy 3.01 retro. I updated Seamonkey to the latest version from web-site, downloaded the latest flash player, and the problem persists: seamonkey quits in certain pages without any advice. Is it an issue with puppy, or with linux in general? I never had this problem in puppy 2.16 runni...
