Are you referring to a comment he made about miriam's post being edited without the "edited at xxxx by xxxx" tag? I remember a comment once like that, but I don't remember where or when. I'm pretty sure it was Gn2 who made it though. Yes, PG, you remember it perfectly too, it used to be a...

Take a look at this thread, for example (note the post by Gn2 at the bottom of page 4) and see if you can work out how it happens that the poster "miriam" has moderator privileges: i took your advice & had a look....but the post by gn2, that i think you were referring to, where miriam...

Re: editing or deleting posts

To be honest I have kinda of had it with the behaviour of a few people on here right now. I'm right with you on that. If you can give me examples I will look into anything, and I have spent countless hours making sure this forum runs and investigating issues and incidents, to make sure Puppy has a ...

Touch of paranoia there Mark? First, thanks for replying, it makes it a lot harder for the post to just vanish silently. Secondly, t's not paranoia if it actually happens, and a lot of funny stuff goes on in this forum. I'm not the only one who has posts go missing from time to time, normally those...

Going by Barry's photograph on his site, he is neither a marsupial nor a monotreme. Ha! I missed you, mate! Thought you had gone to the land of the long lost Puppy! Glad to see you are still around. :P That's kind of you, WhoDo. I did send you email some time back, trying to post on the forum is po...

I agree that people asking for help with their Puppy derivatives in this forum seem a little bit off-topic. So let's get this straight, you are saying that the solution to the problem amish was talking about, of having the community splintering, is to tell anyone who makes a custom version of puppy...

Wayne:

Your barbed reply aside (actually, it was quite witty), the point is that you will need to find a distro that comes with a kernel capable of running on a 386SX. There have been a few such hacked kernels, but they are rare.

You cannot be serious.

Google is full of links to coherent pages on Linux.

No normal Linux kernel will run on a 386SX - no FPU.

There may be versions of Minix that will run on it though.

Why do you ever care responding. There are real users out there asking for help where your time may be more valuable. Rarsa, speaking for myself, there are a couple reasons. I am still responding in this thread because it would be nice if we could all agree on reasonable minimal standards of behavi...

Boot Magic is unknown to me. What I do know is that you don't need it. You have several simpler options. Install GRUB to the MBR of the master disk; Make a GRUB boot floppy; Make a WakePup floppy; Make a smart boot manager floppy; Install smart boot manager to the MBR of the master disk; All those s...

Sorry to be a dissenting voice, but a disembodied dog's head on a platter may not be in the best of taste right at this point in the sad history of the world, especially with at least 2 decapitation stories visible on BBC news right now....

Cute puppies, yes. But visibly INTACT cute puppies, please.

Sage, Gn2, laydeezengennulmin: I tried putting cream puffs in my shoes. It does improve the fit but results in a slight squelching noise when walking. 2.13 may be a huge improvement, but 2.12 has performed flawlessly for me so far, no instability and runs smooth, everything is setup for just a few c...

I agree with mcgargle item 8 in the mission statment says that he doesn't need to ask. Well then (s)he's entitled to get his/her money back. No more, no less. Not being able to make something work does not entitle one to displays of public rudeness, no matter what any mission statement says. Amnest...

FYI, the new rox has replaced the "outline" option with "shadow". I prefered "outline". It looked better and was more readable. Thanks PG, Guess I'm out of date, with 2.12 running so well on this machine I just left the 2.13 CD on the edge of the desk after I burnt it....
