Thanks for the title edit.

I finally found the lucky package by version2013 because shinobar's kept breaking, 1.6 stable. I don't mind particularly but I mean... I wonder what causes it.

So the issue lies in the Wine versions by version2013 (even though I s2g I was using that before?), it seems that there's something missing from it I need, but don't know what. Currently using shinobar's portable version and it works just fine. A bit cumbersome to open files but it works for now. I'...

Undertale game on Wine is like, really dark after reinstall.

I'm honestly posting this I can everywhere in hopes of fixing it because it's honestly bugging me. http://imgur.com/a/kKHkw This is Undertale. It's rated gold on WineHQ. I've played through it twice with no issue, yet I had to reinstall my Linux recently because I messed up my sound drivers and now ...

Unsure if this is being supported but installed it, works great for everything, only issue is when I run the command to save my session it won't save. I get the dialog "Request to save current session is queued..." and it never disappears on its own/saves. I have to swap to JWM in order to...

Thanks again for your replies everyone! We did a lot more testing tonight and determined the issues lies somewhere within Skype and/or Apulse. Facebook video chat and Google+ Hangouts worked flawlessly, yet Skype still cut out. I guess I'll look for troubleshooting for one of those two, but at least...

Thanks for replying again, everyone. :) watchdog ; I had the issue when the microphone wasn't plugged into my machine. I thought that was perhaps the case because it seemed logical, so I plugged the mic in and outside of the audio quality being total [redacted], it made no difference. When I make us...

Hey mike, thanks for your reply. :) It's on an old Dell Optiplex GX520 which has one gig of ram and a 1.6ghz processor. I'll try to lower the quality tonight and report back with results. I think the thing that confuses me so much is that it ends up at random times... every time I hang up here is th...

Sound cuts off when using webcam and microphone on Skype 4.3

Greetings. I recently bought a Gearhead webcam , model WC740i-CP10 precisely. All works well, the video quality is great, it worked without any fuss, just plug in and go. Until this moment. I'm having a problem on Skype calls where if I have both the webcam and I'm attempting to use a microphone -- ...

I was about ten years old when my dad (who was a computer tech) had heard about a new operating system named "Lindows." (The now defunct Linspire) Used it for a few years, got tired of various kernel panics, swapped to Ubuntu after getting student pack of discs from Canonical. Lost my dual...

text Proposed changes didn't work. :( Here is my hardware. I've been working fine on default soundcard (0). The headset is something I'll work on later, but I just want to get the basic sound working for now. By the way, those of you seeking a method to log into Skype with 4.2, don't bother. ...

Whoops, my apologies. Precise 5.5.

I'll give this a shot when I'm back home and report back with results. Going to probably be back because I have a TurtleBeach headset which acts as it's own sound device.

Yeah, pulseaudio --start runs without a gripe; and Skype has been running even since I did an install of the .deb right from the Skype page the day they forced us to upgrade. Sound settings only shows "default device," and does not show PulseAudio. Can't get my hardware info at this time, ...

Awesome. Tried to get into a call and noticed I had no sound. Googled "No sound Skype 4.3" and found a crapload of Linux-based results. Skype/Microsoft definitely screwed the pooch with this, first not telling us about the upgrade and now ditching Alsa support. Anyway. I digress. I tried e...

Wireless ceases to function on Puppy 5.5

I recently installed Puppy 5.5 two days ago onto a SanDisk Cruzer 4gb drive, after I lost my other one. It ran flawlessly on my desktop. I bring it to work, it works great on the laptop. Today I go about my regular duties and notice the wireless doesn't seem to connect. It tells me it "failed t...

XMF, you're running an old version of Puppy. Precise 5.5's GetFlash functions fine.
It is the last version because Flash dropped support for Linux.

Hope that clears some things up.
