depmod & initrd.gz

I am trying to make some minor modifications to initrd.gz (PuppyPrecise and Fatdog64-521). I want to run depmod on the initrd directory, but it complains: "WARNING: Can't read module ... Exec format error" for all the modules when I run the following command from the extracted initrd direc...

Nvidia driver 304 and Fatdog64-701b

The Nvidia 304 driver will not install on kernels newer than 4.3 and will indicate MTRR errors. To use this legacy driver on Fatdog64-710b, a patch needs to be installed on the Nvidia driver as discussed in this thread . To summarize, the following are the steps required to patch the Nvidia driver f...

xine-lib & libdvdcss problem when playing DVD

In Fatdog64-710b, the xine-lib package in the repository is not compatible with the version of libdvdcss that is installed. To demonstrate the problem: I booted with "savefile=none" kernel parameter and then used Gslapt to install xine-ui and xine-lib (version 1.2.6). Doesn't matter if you...

re: Problem booting Fatdog64 with wireless keyboard

jamesbond: Running lsmod (in Fatdog64_702) indicates that the module " hid_logitech_dj " was loaded for my keyboard. The coldplug boot parameter works fine ... also seems to have fixed an annoyance where the wireless mouse was not always available when fatdog started (I would have to ctrl-...

re: Problem booting Fatdog64 with wireless keyboard

Just answered my own question. Using the boot parameter "coldplug" resolved the issue of booting Fatdog64 with a wireless keyboard.

Problem booting Fatdog64 with wireless keyboard

I am trying to boot with an encrypted savefile -- when it asks for the passphrase, it does not accept any keyboard input from my Logitech wireless keyboard. (I also noticed that it will not accept keyboard input if I set kernel parameter "savefile=ask" ) I have tried Fatdog 701 and 710 and...

xine-ui on Fatdog64-701

thanks for the quick response jamesbond .

The xine-ui package (Version 0.99.9-x86_64-1) in Gslapt works fine now.

Thanks also for the good tips. The "fatdog-clean-without.sh" works great ... wish I'd known about that one yesterday.

xine-ui on Fatdog64-701

The xine-ui package (Version 0.99.9-x86_64-1)in Gslapt causes a problem with some of the system icons and run actions (or mime types). I did the following to verify the problem and so that it did not mess up my save file: 1) Boot Fatdog-701 with boot parameter "savefile=none" 2) Look at a ...

Question on fd64-devx_630.sfs

I did run into a problem when compiling one of the dependencies for osmgpsmap. The way the library path was set up in FatDog (I did not change any paths when I configured it), the compiler decided to use the old gdk-pixbuf files. All I had to do was delete the gdk-pixbuf and gdk-pixbuf-xlib subdirec...

Question on fd64-devx_630.sfs

Both are the correct ones. They are part of gdk-pixbuf (generic pixbuf interface and the Xlib-specific implementation). As for which ones to you - that depends on what you want to do with it. Thanks for that reply jamesbond, but I understood that part of it. What seems to be the problem is that the...

Question on fd64-devx_630.sfs

Question about fd64-devx_630.sfs ... There is a directory called /usr/include/gdk-pixbuf-2.0 in this sfs file that contains two subdirectories (gdk-pixbuf & gdk-pixbuf-xlib). These two subdirectories also show up in /usr/include/gtk-2.0 in this same sfs. I would note that the files in these pixb...

excessive kswap0 on Fatdog_630

The command "swapon -s" will tell you if Fatdog recognized your swap partition. I had to have an entry for the swap partition in /etc/fstab so that Fatdog_600 would see this partition on start up. I can't remember if kswap0 also occurs when folding client is off. I've to check that out. Th...

excessive kswap0

There is also the process kswap0 that is almost continuously occurring I have not noticed this problem when folding in any of the Fatdog releases (and I have done CPU folding with Fatdog_630-Final). An excessive kswap0 is probably a kernal bug. The way the folding activity is interacting with your ...

GPU Folding with Fatdog

joaomcteixeira: Glad you got the FAH Client running in FatDog! If you are going to try and fold with your GPU, then the steps you need to do depend on which GPU you are using. You can natively fold on FatDog if you have a nVidia Fermi or newer board. With these boards, you will be using FAHcore 0x17...

Compile error on glibc

I am having problems compiling glibc-2.18 in Fatdog64-630. It does compile correctly in Fatdog64-520, so I'm not really sure what the problem is in the 600 series of FatDog64 (I had also tried fatdog64-620 but it failed in the same place as fatdog-64-630). I'm pretty sure I have loaded the correct S...
