freememapplet_tray seems to not update it's state when one has zero space left. So when one frees up some space it does not update it's state. So it still says I have zero space left. Killing it and starting it fixes the issue.

I found with python stuff I have to compile it in puppy. Though I don't know if I tried using packages from Debian.

No its not fixed. It's the same problem in v4. Fine to begin with but after ones installs addons like FlashGet it won't exit full screen.

Timidity uses software. The other way to play midis, is to use your sound card if it supports it.

I have no problems with playing midi files on my 2.6GHz one core processor, 1GB of ram computer.
