Pussy Cat Linux is already taken
I just came across this. Pussy Cat Linux is Suse based; http://susestudio.com/a/Eh7s56/pussy-cat-linux I just saw several posts on this forum about "the need" to change the name of Pussy Linux, and Pussy Cat Linux was one of the suggestions; it's already taken. ...but there's no more need ...

There used to be a Rasberry Pi version of Pussy Linux
Thanks, but I was referring to an img file Sickgut had made for Rasberry Pi. I guess I could e-mail him about that. I have a million things going on right now, so this isn't pressing. I'll just use Debian 6 until I get adventurous with Rasberry Pi.

Rasberry PI
Hello All, I have to admit I haven't touched Pussy Linux much since my last post (busy with other stuff; not a comment on Pussy Linux). The only interesting thing I did is delete it from my hard drive and re-install; the re-installed Pussy still works jut fine with my live-rw drive (a 16 GByte flash...

The 386 was distinctly different from previous x86 processor
The 386 was revolutionary, not just because it was 32 bit (though that was the obvious difference from 16 bit Intel processors). The original x86 processors were limited to 1 MByte of address space. Intel got around this by introducing protected mode on the 80286. Protected mode allowed your program...

Memory segmentation
I used to write in assembly language, back when MS operating systems (no Linux back then, but there was Xenix; the SCO version of Unix, for x86 systems) ran on x86 processors. x86 processors used a memory addressing scheme called memory segmentation. The memory you addressed was described by the con...

I found Pussy Linux While Binging
Sickgut, I'd been in the Windows world for about two years, and hadn't touched Linux during that time. ...but when I started using Linux again, I binged (still MS affected) the Puppy Linux forums and came across a really great looking cat picture. That's what got me interested in Pussy Linux; the ca...

Saving a Pussy Linux session
I'm seeing some posts about Pussy Linux sessions not being saved to the live-rw file. I don't have any experience with saving to the live-rw file because I went the full install route. I created a partition on a flash drive, called live-rw. My sessions get saved automatically to the flash drive, eve...

...and it's easy to install on a hard drive
I followed the advice on http://pussycatforest.info and it was really easy installing Pussy Linux to my hard drive. I already had Legacy OS4 installed on my hard drive, so I booted up Legacy OS4 and (1) created an ext2 partition on my hard drive on a Windows system (2) downloaded pussy-xtra-beta-pre...

More about Sudo and SU
I just upgraded my Interix installation to use Debian. The installation instructions said you had to be logged in as "Administrator", and just using su Administrator wasn't good enough. So I tried it; SFU 3.5 (Interix) does have an "su" command (and the installation instructions ...

Puppy isn't the only sudoless Linux/Unix variant
I'm typing away right now on a Windows XP box that has SFU 3.5 SFU is also sudoless. I know Microsoft changed the name of SFU to SUA when they came out with Vista, but I don't know if they added any features like sudo (or su).

Solution to Pnethood connection problem
After installing Puppy 4.3.1 on my laptop, I tried looking at my Windows shares through Pnethood, but got the same "not found" message everybody on this thread got. I tried upping the scan time to 30 seconds but still couldn't connect. One of the posters on this thread said he thought he n...
