Here's a work in progress, only because I don't know how to do some other changes like changing fonts or making my own clock (I want one of a similar style, but a little different, more pocket-watch-esque). The clockskin, by the way, is from user Joel (many thanks!), and the icon-theme is silver-mar...

How do you make a transparent background for your clocks? For graphics-editing programs, I have: mtPaint and InkLite. Maybe there's a different application someone can suggest? Or am I missing something in these programs?

Also, how does one change the font for icons?

To take Walter90's question a step further, how does one even add or remove icons to the desktop? I've been looking for a help page on this, but haven't had much luck yet.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hm, maybe I'll look into using a slightly older Puppy, so long as I can still use 4.3.1 .pets. I like the fact that you're speaking from Inspiron experience, and your machine is probably pretty similar to mine. Yeah, it could all have to do with Xorg. The only reason I switched from Xvesa to Xorg (a...

Yeah, I'm using 4.3.1. but I don't see why I should have to downgrade a version or two just because a problem recently developed. So I'd rather not do that. Besides, I usually just leave my computer on, so maybe I'll just not shut it down very often, leaving me to only have to deal with this issue o...

Racepres, thanks for your quick reply! My UMA Memory (I think that's what video ram is) was changed way back when I was trying out various versions of Ubuntu. It's set at 8 MB (default was 1 MB before I even attempted to try Ubuntu or any other Linux distro). And the Bios is A32, so that's all updat...

My problem is similar to Wheelhorse2347, but it just started occurring yesterday after the battery nearly died on me. I turned off my Dell Inspiron 1100 to sit and charge for a few hours. When I came back to it, I turned it on, everything seemed to be loading fine until the time when my Puppy usuall...

01micko, thanks so much for the .pet file to install new clock skins! I mostly just wanted the pocketwatch, but we'll see if I choose other ones later. I'd show you all my desktop, but I haven't figured out how to use my "print screen" button. Maybe need to configure something differently....

Hi all, I recently upgraded my pwidgets to 2.2.3 and I like how things are looking on my desktop. However, I have a problem: You mentioned putting new clock skins into the /root/.pwidgets/clock_skins (or whatever the exact directory was) or using the /root/.pwidgets/themes for templates to make one'...

ha, so it was a simple matter of downloading and installing the Xorg_full_dri-7.3 package and then restarting X. Xorg is working fine now after I chose the 1024x768, but not 24 and instead the lower value (was it 16?). Anyway, I also downloaded your program and I've got two-finger scrolling working!...

Jemimah, I tried booting off the CD and chose Xorg. It never seemed to work. I don't know which resolution to choose, but I chose a lot of them, and none of them worked. With some researching about Dell Inspiron 1100 and video problems with Linux, most people seemed to be using 1024x768x24 with slig...

You know, I don't quite recall what the specific problems with Xorg were, but I know that when I first installed Puppy and chose Xorg, it wouldn't load, and I think I was brought to a terminal prompt, in which I tried to edit Xorg.conf, but I couldn't do anything. But then, maybe there was a differe...

xvesa touchpad scrolling

Jemimah, can't you or someone else knowledgeable in creating packages like this make it run for us xvesa users? I can't use xorg because it created problems for my dell inspiron 1100 laptop. I want touchpad scrolling. I like it because it's very convenient to use for quick scanning on a website or d...
