When I run PCmanFM from terminal, the following appears:

(pcmanfm:3797): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

What does that mean?

I have PCmanFM up and running now, great. But... the icons are really simpel and not too nice looking. Some kind of default? How can I get Rox's icons? Or some other decent icon set?

I added the line to .gtkrc-2.0:
gtk-icon-theme-name="ROX"

Hi, I was redirected here from another thread. I'd like to change to pcmanfm, but as a newbie, I dont really understand how to do it. Are there any step by step instructions how to change? Shall I paste all that code (in the first post) in a terminal and then install the 3 .pets?

How change from ROX to PCmanfm?

Hi, can somebody explain for a puppy noob how to change from ROX to... say PCmanFM? Im not a fan of ROX and have had a really hard time to adapt to it, but still need a lightweight filesystem for my low ram (128mb) old computer. I have made some searches on the form but only get results about themin...

So, now I have two partitions with a Puppy on each, see if that helps. And I updated to 4.3.1, I thought that it was what I already had, but I discovered I was running 4.3.0.

Re-reading this Post, I'm wondering if Puppy is detecting your Hard Drive properly. Hm... im thinking: could it be due to the fact that I installed on another computer, then moving the freshly installed HD to this one? Might that cause trouble? All hardware has been working nicely so far, Puppy det...

Hi guys, thank you for all suggestions! Graphics resolution I was successful with Xorgwizard and can now change the resolution to the proper one. DVD/CD Well, I do have a modern "normal" computer with DVD, USB-boot and whatnot, but the old computer (Toshiba Portégé 3490CT) I'd like to revi...

During my Puppy Linux-week, I've had a crash and a power failure. Therefore, the boot is a little funny: When I boot, the startup halts after "Recognising media devices... optical". A prompt is shown, where is write "reboot". Not the boot sequence starts normally again and Puppy ...

My desktop (pinboard) is blank, empty and black

I revived an old PIII laptop (128 ram) with Puppy Linux the other day. I really like it, but after a reboot, my pinboard has become blank (no icons, no wallpaper and a black background). I still have my tray (but the network icon is missing) and the mouse pointer. The menu lets me start some applica...
