Trying to run Pup on old Intel T2080 laptop. Using older kernel ff 32bit version. It loads pup files to RAM and continues booting until loading xorg. Then screen goes black and computer apparently hangs.

Is laptop too old for the kernel being using?

I am sorry if it ia not possible. Can we make manjaropup using woof-ce? Manjaro is based on Arch Linux. A while back there was a Arch based version of Puppy. It would be great there was a version of Puppy Linux which could use the AUR ( https://aur.archlinux.org/ ). According to Woof-CE v1.0 change...

I came over from Risc OS to Puppy Linux, after a long break from enjoying computing. So Rox was familiar and welcoming.

However, I now prefer thunar. Rox Filer can get confusing when navigating many directories, made worse by being able to have the same directory open in multiple windows.

@foxpup htop was probably used to see retrovol's CPU usuage http://puppylinux.org/wikka/htop @cprivers this problem sounds vaguely familiar. There is a retrovol thread, so maybe ask there: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=50744 or you could raise at issue on github: https://github.co...

@learnhow2code Thanks for the information about Debian and Software in the Public Interest. Yes, most developers care that the user experience is good, and there software has less bugs. Less bugs reported -> to less bugs fixed is true. Is there any evidence of less bugs reported? @jlst at least your...

Developers will develop what interests not what users want. Also, developers will have limited time to spend volunteering on a project. So I don't think the lack of communication is the key issue. If the users' wants roughly coincide with developers' interests then there can be some mutual benefit. ...

Initialise mount LVM (Logical Volume Manager)

LVM (Logical Volume Manager) is a layer between a filesystem and the physical disk partitions. More information on Wikipedia. It is useful for resizing partitions and moving data in live situations. If Puppy is used to inspect what is on PC its useful to be able to mount Logical Volumes (LV). Slacko...

Bootflash combo - 128Mb vs 256Mb error - no warning message

Using the Bootflash 'combo' option only worked with older version using 128Mb second partition size. (Another option beside 'combo' also uses a second partition of size 128Mb/256Mb for the system files.) No warning when .iso is too big Originally, I used the older Bootflash (in Slacko 5.31). I tried...

What is the best way of running youtube on older computers with around 256Mb?

You need flash or html5, how does chrome run?

Maybe a standalone youtube player application would be best?
