How to change the default browser?
Hi folks. I just frugal installed this and I think most everything is good. I'm having some related issues though. 1) How can I get the window up (again) to change the default browser ? I had selected Chromium the first time around, but it is still Midori. 2) I think I messed up the chromium install...

Thank you for the info. It is making sense to me, and I will be trying some extra sfs packages soon. I have gone with setting up the puppy's with their own 10gb partition to put each directory into. I don't mind anybody hijacking the thread.... I learn more that way!! Never can learn too much! Anoth...

Hello All, I hope I'm posting in the rite place (nuwb). I've been experimenting with some puppy's on an old IBM laptop (300mhz, 425mb ram, 20gb HD, 1024x768). So far, puppy501 and NOP r2 work fine, and I'm enjoying the experience of resurrecting this old machine. Today I tried installing the Quirky'...

pwidgets not showing all
Hi Folks, Last night I setup pwidgets to run on my frugal 510. The clock and networking are showing up fine, but nothing else I selected (drive space, calender, today, weather). Any reason why this may be happening? I did go in and select the calender under plugins (I think) and it asked me what for...

Multiple Frugal Installs Question
From the Puppy Beginners thread... "Another advantage is the ability to put a frugal install almost anywhere. You can even stick it inside a full install of Puppy or another Linux. Or you can have multiple frugal installs in the same partition." My question is, should those multiple instal...

First some preliminary remarks. - avoid spelling errors, it's ALSA not ASLA - Make a thread per issue. You have 3 issues and you might get responses for maybe one only, depending on people's knowledge. - There are issues of things not working in 5.10 and there is a special thread for problems in th...

Some Basic ALSA and other Questions
Hi All, First off, I'm a linux nuwb, but have learned enough to be a danger to all my pc's :) I've just installed puppy 510 (frugal install to HD) on an old Thinkpad 600 (425,xxx mb ram, 300mhz cpu, usb1, pcmcia, 20gb HD). I've gotten most everything working by googling any issues I've had. Which br...

Retreiving Boot Settings
hi Folks, I installed lucid puppy on an old IBM Thinkpad. It works fine, but it's still booting from a CD and reading the settings from the hard drive. I want to move the entire install to the hard drive. Since I set this up a while back, I cannot remember the command string I had to enter to get pu...
