I am pretty sure you can't boot it from a usb stick. I have never been able to make anything except Legacy OS4 work that way. Burn a disc and boot from it. The reason seems to be that it always looks for idecd drive. So it also needs to be a PATA drive and not a SATA drive. Hope this helps, Rob

Puppy Linux 4 and earlier

Hi, I've had the same problem with almost anything Puppy Linux 4 series and earlier. I had a HP S7220N and they would all boot on it. As soon as I changed the DVD drive from IDE to SATA, they wouldn't boot. I'm not sure if it was the manufacturer of the drive or what, but I have experienced the same...

Dual booting with SolydX

Hi oldyeller, just wanting to let you know that I am really happy with this. I am dual booting this with SolydX. The only real issue I have found is that it runs the cpu fan at a higher speed. I am absolutely amazed how little ram this uses. After booting and running Audacious in the background, it ...

I have a computer I am planning on putting back in use but very busy due to my wife's illness. Please don't get discouraged as I have seen the improvements in this ...

Kingsoft

Hi, I know it isn't the most lightweight, but I am using Kingsoft Office in a full install. I have a newer NM70I processor with 3gb of ram and it works well. I haven't checked to see if it has a problem as you are describing, but Abiword seems to give lots of small problems like you are describing. ...

Hi bark_bark_bark, I just went to it again just now. Not sure why you can't reach it. Maybe that is why ally is thinking it is down also. Maybe try a different browser? Thanks, Rob

Pelo

It's too bad that Pelo hasn't responded to any requests for answers. I requested he post on another topic about how he changed out firmware and modules. It would be really great if someone could just update the kernel to get better hardware support. Thanks John for all you do, Rob

Please keep

Hi guys, just my 2c worth. This is the best release in the last year on this forum. Very nice with a lot of work put into it. I would love it if this became the CE version. You guys have put so much work into this and I would hate to see this go away. Have you announced this on either DistroWatch or...
