Adding "root=...' did the trick, 214x now boots up just fine.
Question: What does adding "root=/dev/ram0" do?

I just found and tried Slickpup 525 Premium on my newest old laptop (HP/Compaq nc6400), and I'm impressed. Good work! The apps you've included match my needs better than any other Puppy I've tried right out of the box - so far. I do spend a bit of time tweaking to adjust the UI to my tastes, but it'...

I have a SD card in an IDE adapter on my laptop (I'm using it now). A while ago I had a similar problem and I found that the adapter had backed out of the connector on the motherboard. I plugged it back in and blocked it from backing out again with a small felt pad used to cushion chair legs.

like the Atari Portfolio? or the HP 200 LX? I'd like some user stories, opinions... thanks Big handheld fan here! I have an early HP95, 2 HP 100s and an H200LX - all still work perfectly. I removed the built in version of Thunar, using the "Remove Built-in Packages" in the Setup menu, and then re-installed the only version of Thunar listed in the package manager - the re-install of Thunar has fixed the image file issue I was having. Might be a clue in there somewhere. I'm l...

Re: ...

Dave_B, Right-click on the Rox desktop icon, and choose edit. Where it has the extra options, just remove the "/" and Rox will load to root which is the default. Thank you! I should have been able to figure that out :oops: Another nit or two... In Thunar, if I right OR left click on a .jp...

I'm tweaking the Slickpup UI to my tastes and I would like to set the ROX default folder to the /root folder. I'm not having any luck! Can you give me a hint?

The ath_pci wireless driver works with my D-Link G650 PCMCIA card. Good thing I wrote down which driver worked in another puppy, because auto-probing loaded 9 drivers that didn't work before finally loading the ath_pci driver.

I read your post about Legacy OS and decided to burn a CD and give it a try. I remember trying Legacy OS quite a while ago, but I couldn't get a wireless connection and moved on. This time, I loaded the correct wireless module and the wireless connected fine. I'm using Legacy OS right now. This lapt...

~~~There are a few minor bugs I've discovered in the standard edition which will be addressed in the upcoming Firefox edition.~~~
Please tell me more about the Fiirefox edition. I've been using Chrome for quite a while, but I'm game to give the new Firefox Slickpup a shot.
