zim Tahr6.0.5 install
:o Subito P., I found the puppy package manager install and its dependencies were too much for my Tahr frugal install, so I reverted to zim_5_lucid.pet found earlier in this thread which does works well enough for me to find out if it will be useful to me or not. 8) Thanks, SP JW Edit: Forum mgr*ple...

From the TarNOP ver 6.0 command line: zim command failed user/bin/zim user/bin/python no file or directory The package manager shows the install but I could not locate the presumed installed files. From the latest updated Tahr,...

Re: FatdogArm Alpha4 - 1 November 2013
Alpha4 is a minor bugfix release from alpha3, not a feature release. Because of the bug in the RAM layer, everyone is recommended to upgrade. Changes: - fix nasty bug with RAM layer - new method of distribution (kernel packages + SFS instead of disk images). Get it from here: http://distro.ibiblio....

Interesting boot phenomenon. nV MX440 video card. Black screen. Ctrl-Alt-Bkspce produces terminal screen behind which is correct desktop. Exit terminal and everything works. Not seen this variant before. Incomers might not know the k/b option? Simple fix? Sage, some of the older Nvidea boards can b...

Network speed
I have my Mele A2000 loaded with FatdogArm. The network configuration is slower than my android network connection.
terminal command:
dmesg | grep -i duplex
reports:
[ 30.850000] wemac wemac.0: eth0: link up, 10Mbps, half-duplex, lpa 0x0021
how can I get to: 100Mbps full-duplex?
thanks,
JW

headless
I may be off base here but this is what I did. May not work for everyone. ...the booting halts when (during booting) /usr/bin/xwin detects that the current hardware profile is different from the previous, since the screen is no longer connected. In this case xwin calls xorgwizard, and the config dia...

jamesbond, Please excuse my ignorance, some of this is new to me. I'm hoping to make an audio server from mine. So..I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to compile a VNC server for FDArm. Which one is better, turbovnc or tigervnc? For now, you can already run headless by starting Xvfb with...

Hey, I want to use my puppy in my classroom. Because I can start all programs with my Variomen I would turn off the OpenboxMenü for my students. Can you tell me how to disable the Openbox menu? I have the directory .config/openbox renamed. However, it has not changed! Greetings Wolfgang EDIT: probl...

kaeza, Okay... Ran xorgwizard, and tried the 'intel' driver, but my machine hangs as soon as X starts (it doesn't even change the resolution). Also tried selecting the 'i810' driver, but IDK why it switches back to using the 'vesa' driver. Here's what glxgears says: GL_RENDERER = Software Rasterizer...
