SD card lock

Billtoo....At the risk of asking the most stupid question of the year....Will Quirky 6.0 run with your SD card in the "locked" position? I guess "no" is the answer but I can hope...would provide a "kiosk" mode similar to what one can obtain running most pups from a frug...

2.1 Delta Md5

What am I doing wrong? I have D/Led the 2.1 delta twice and Gtkhash shows the MD5 as a8e69f7d0d34c8565ac775289f64fbc9 not c406bbdce626a5da8d2025cb268d5642 as X-precise-2.1.iso-md5.txt indicates. MD5 for main X-precise-2.0.iso checks good. Thanks... KJ

icewm mail

I believe icewm mail is configured in icewm preferences starting around line 229. I only use online email and do not have a POP to test from but I did manage to bring up a email app from the icewm taskbar on another pup (wary55rc). Thanks for the hard work and interest in getting icewm running on Pu...

Thanks for the quick response. Sc0ttman ... I owe an apology. The 7 second period flashing message actually reads "update drive icons" .... perhaps this is normal behavior for later Akitas. I do not remember if I saw this with earlier betas but saw it in B11 along with large cpu usage spik...

desktop refresh

I did a search of this string and could not find that anyone else has this strange problem which I experience with B11, B13, B14. The problem is a flashing "refresh desktop" notification about every 7 seconds. I only see this problem on Akita betas. Background: All beta have been ran in th...

Icewmtray should address the "swallow" problem. Happy to hear that IceWM might be in the works ... It's my favorite WM. Puppy Xtreme (420) is still one of my favorite Puppies ... no pinboard or wallpaper just a black screen with my most used apps on a double height taskbar (quick launch) p...

sound

tlchost ... I loaded 54X6 to a Grub4dos bootable USB plug yesterday and sound on my old Aspire 5570Z laptop seems to be working correctly from the desktop tray icon. Also, Sysinfo shows: -Multimedia- Audio Adapter : HDA-Intel - HDA Intel like yours but could be a different driver as "PCH"...

Good to see another "lite" option. Loads up nice .... added Icewm, Firefox and flash plus a few other things. No problems so far. PPM does have some issues. Got a few items repeated in Puppy5 too. Thanks .... KJ

Thanks for the Info. Did you reformat the flash-drive? Is each Puppy version on a separate partition? Thanks KJ

lite?

I agree as I use only a few of the apps in most puppies. If you keep the main .sfs tiny and add the glitz in the Adrive almost everyone can be happy. Thanks for all the time and hard work everyone has put into Carolina. KJ

eth0 activity

peebee .... Thanks for your response. Am posting now from Slacko5.3.3F and Network Wizard detects and loads eth0 OOTB and works correctly for me. Frisbee is only included as a .gz in usr/local. I extracted and install the .pet which gave the same indications as previously reported with Fluppy,Saluki...

Wbar coverup

If you just want Wbar (and/or Tint2) to no be covered up by open windows .... just set the margins in Openbox configuration Manager - Margins ... to leave these areas uncovered. Top-58, bottom-32 works well on my screen. You can still move windows to the edges of the screen but they should no automa...

tray icons not working with eth0

FYI ... Frisbee-tray icon does not indicate eth0 Tx and RX activity in Fluppy12 and 13, Saluki23, and Carolina002. Wlan connection indicator icons work correctly. Tested on an Acer aspire 5570Z and an EeePC 1005HA. Eth0 and Wlan connect and work great on both PC's. Thanks .... KJ

Frisbee-tray and eth0 activity information

I run frugal installs from USB/SD flashdrives and eth0 networking on this box. Carolina002 found eth0 OOTB. connected with Frisbee and runs great in the auto-DHCP mode. PupSaveConfig 2.2.2

I seldom have tried Puppy live multisession and have had mixed results. However, PupSaveConfig 2.2.2 has a problem when running frugal install from a flash drive and the save interval is set to "0" (should save only manually and when prompted at shutdown). It still saves auto saves every 3...

USB un-mount problems

mini-jaguar ... Saluki 23 correctly mounts and un-mounts an old Sandisk 128 MB and a Laxar 256 MB USB flash drive for me so i doubt that age of the flash is the problem. I have only had a flash drive fail to unmount if I have mounted a .sfs file on a drive and failed to un-mount that file before I t...
