The downside to Tex, LaTex, emacs, vim, is that they are so f..ing massive, that when you at last feel that you start to master them, you have to read up on a whole lot of new info to make some small changes, and then it is very easy to get lost!

I have not needed to make a LaTex document for a little more than a year, but I used LaTex almost daily at the uni from 2000 onwards, and I still think LaTex. From time to time, some GUI editors turned up, and were...

Is that a Google Captcha that fabrice_035 posted a picture of?
I have blocked all Google in my /etc/hosts, so sites with Google's Captcha are no-no to me in any case.

I try not to be negative, but what is it that those potential members need from the forum? They are free to download everything posted in the forum, and can follow all threads. If facebook is so good, why can't they get their answers there?

Did they place a request on facebook to be a member here in the forum? I am not on facebook, and I am obviously missing some background info, but why would they do that? How many are we talking about?

What is the point? An upgraded phpBB? There is already an 'alternative' forum linked to at the top of this page. I feel confortable in this forum, please don't ruin my experience.

Bummer!
FreeOffice: In SoftMaker FreeOffice, .odt files can only be opened. Saving files in this format is not supported.
Yippee, back to Abi... :(

Which means I have to use the stable Abiword in my old Lucid to edit all genealogical docs I have, and tahr64 for browsing. Oh, well. :?
