If it is an original file you have whited out. It has not been removed, only hidden from the top layer. Just remove the .wh.xxxx file (hidden file, so hit the eye in rox toolbox) in /initrd/pup_rw for the missing file(s) and reboot. The original file will be restored out of the .sfs. The files you w...

Any <include> listed in the /etc/templates/_root_.jwmrc will override the template.

These are the standard includes.

<Include>/root/.jwmrc-tray</Include>
<Include>/root/.jwm/jwmrc-theme</Include>
<Include>/root/.jwm/jwmrc-personal</Include>

The warning is correct and the key bindings are located in /root/.jwm/jwmrc-personal. After making a change, do a restart of JWM.

If and when fixmenus is run you will lose any changes that you make to .jwmrc.

If you have 4Gb of memory and want to see all of it used, than go with the PAE kernel. The Iso labelled as 4Gb is miss leading, because it will not see 4Gb of memory, but somewhat less, to the tune of 300 to 500Mbs.

The menus in Slacko 5.4 are indeed messed up. It is an all or nothing on the sub-menus and the switch is as CatDude has written. The menus in Slacko 5.5 are fixed to a degree. One file is still incorrect for the menus to work properly. I have repaired this, by changing it for the same one out of Pre...

Repaired Menus, Back to Normal

I’ve got the menus back to working normally, by changing out the libgnome-menu.so.2.0.2 for the one out of Precise 5.4.3 in /usr/lib (the lib out of Precise is a little larger). Now the menus work correctly with the /etc/xdg/menus configuration files there. In order to get xcompmgr in /usr/bin worki...

Add this to the *.desktop file for which you do not want to display in menu.

NoDisplay=true

Run fixmenus in terminal after, and jwm -restart.

Try another mouse, we have had the same thing happen with a MS mouse (like your’s) after a few years of use, the contacts get dirty and the springs get tired. They start acting odd.

The antique bios on my Gigabit mother board, which is the newest we have, is limited to only loading 4Gb partitions of USB flash memory.

My dad’s has a little bit older As Rock board and it sees anything we have used. Just be aware that some bios have limitations.

With my bread and butter AMD 1055 6 core processor, the remaster of Fatdog, with minor changes and add-ons boots in 6 and half seconds.

My Dad’s AMD 945 4 core computer boots in less than 9 seconds .

Sub-menus

Of the newer puppies, Precise by Barry, still works correctly on the menus, as is with xdg. Slacko 5.4, Fatdog 611 have changed the system some what and do not work as well on the menus (I may not understand the newer system as well as the older), it seems to be an all or nothing on the sub-menus. May I ask the reason for having most of the JWM main menu items broken down into submenus? Some of them have only one item in the submenu, which seems silly to me. I had no problem with Slacko 5.3.3. and the normal xdg system.

I believe you may be trying to change the gtkdialog icons for the gtkdialog apps, which in most cases are just using the generic X icon. This is why I don’t just show the icon in the tasklist, but also the name. You can change this in /root/.jwmrc-tray (hit eye in rox, it is hidden) by editing it to...
