I still can't get my sound to work. It isn't the speakers as the same problem is with headphones or external speakers. It must be the soundcard.

I had this issue when I was using Windows also.

I think someone might have overblown them in the registry and now my soundcard is permanently distorted.

I got wine to work.

I just downloaded the link you told me to, auto installed it and then it did the gecko install all on its' own.

I copied the .sfs file to the mnt/home directory.

The boot manager does not want to recognise it. It says there are none in the directory or they are of the wrong type.

I did the ALSA wizard.

If the first two options deliver sound through the speakers, the second two do not.

The sound is still distorted though and not clear. Maybe my soundcard is broken or overloaded or something.

Also, I did the full install and not the frugal. How do I make a .sfs file to load at startup and how to I encrypt the entire hard disk partition so if someone does a F12 at bootup and puts a live-cd in they cannot so easily just download my entire work on to a USB and pass my work off as their own....
