I agree but when it does work, it is really nice:-) I got further but now alsamixer segfaults when I choose the device. No biggie. I will just have to boot into Kubuntu or Windows 7. I think pulseaudio makes this work a bit more easily. I generally use BT for internet connectivity to my iPhone, and ...

Have bluetooth "working," how do I get audio?

After lots of trial and error and installing various packages, then starting over here and there, I am able to pair devices; however, how do I get sound to output to my BT headset: I have gotten this far actually: sh-4.1# bt-audio -c 00:10:61:00:92:F6 Connecting to an audio service Audio service is ...

@ bohocmasni PostPosted: Thu 17 Jul 2014, 02:31 hi! I have a problem: after installing xkb-data_2.10.1-1ubuntu1_all.deb from ubuntu repo, (and after X restart) my keyboard doesn't work any more. It is a dependency for workrave. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6D1YI-41ao This has ha...

[SOLVED] AR9285 wlan + AR3011 bluetooth combo card issues

I installed bluez with dependencies. EDIT: the firmware in /lib/firmware is missing for this common chip. download it from https://raw.githubusercontent.com/cernekee/linux-firmware/master/ath3k-1.fw and place ath3k-1.fw in that directory. Also, add btusb to the BootManager & REBOOT. I also loade...

Does/is ACPI supported in this version?

I have been using 5.4.3 and it doesn't seem to support acpi (lid close to suspend) events.

I modded the 5.4.3 and recompressed the sfs so that it has all my mods and programs so I am deciding whether to go this way or just stick with what I have for now.

ACPI at least lid close?

I got an acpi package from somewhere. If I run the /etc/acpi/suspend.sh the machine (asus eeepc-1201T) suspends and wakes; however, acpi is not "running." sh-3.00# /etc/init.d/rc.acpi start ACPI seems to be supported but not enabled in kernel, try using acpi=force on next reboot. and that ...

I have this running in precise: it works wonderfully AND it has enough of the core binaries where it was fairly simple to install Dolphin, Showfoto, Krename and KRDC: these are all apps I use on Kubuntu. I just installed one deb at a time and tried to launch and then searched for the missing lib usi...

works smashingly on my OQO model 02

Super thanks! Sound card stopped working with all linux kernels past 2.6.35. Still refuses to work in ubuntu precise; however, I was surprised that it worked perfectly using 4.5.3 Puppy Precise. Since XP is nearing end of life, I was getting desperate to find a Linux distro that worked with a newer ...

Try looking for /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0/ or /sys/devices/platform/eeepc/hwmon/hwmon0/ or search around in /sys/ for hwmon If you find those places, you should have some files starting with "pwm1" Do this from the terminal replacing the appropriate path if needed. sh -c 'echo > 0 /sys/class...

no avail

I just could not get it to work properly. On every reboot, it had to update the "layered filesystem" as well, and it took forever so I started with a new pupsave file and it works properly

X stops, loads mouse cursor then back to terminal (Solved)

This happens to many of my trials with puppies after a while, running with save file. X starts to load, mouse cursor pops up, then I get the terminal. If I do cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf to see if the file is there and/or is corrupt. I get some message about "cannot stat: input/output error" If...

modify initrd

I did this once before for another reason: I use puppeee on my eeepc 701 and that was built before it was before most puppies let one prevent the base sfs from loading using a grub option and ater I remastered it, my base sfs was approaching a Gig, and my eee has 2 GB ram and it would load automatic...

The older versions have some serious deficits compared to 0.5x so a newer version was needed. I avoid *.pet because I like to run a lean save file. I even sometimes merge sfs files because of the limitation of 6. I just unsquash them into one directory and then resquash them. I knew there was a way ...

Awesome program. Works on Lucid and Slacko for sure... probably others. I kept launching the program and then found the appropriate lib file it was missing in the Ubuntu Lucid Package Search and placed the extracted results in the programs own lib folder. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/48359498/XnView51.sfs

I have tried to build both of these with no success. I have a seemingly proper build environment, as I build my own wifi driver from source, the ati/amd *.run file and virtualbox *.run files all built on my machine. It isn't that I "hate" flash, and someone pointed out that 11.2 will get s...

What happens when a site wants, say flash 12? I read that it will still get security support for 11.2 but it will, at some point prevent some sites from working. I have Gnash on Precise 12.04 and it seems to work, at least with youtube. So I guess I will rephrase my goal. I want NOT to use flash usi...

Looking for alternative to Adobe Flash

Since Adobe has dumped linux support, I have been trying to get either gnash or lightspark to work with no good results. I somewhat got Gnash half working by cobbling together a bunch of deb packages called as dependencies, extracted them and put them into an sfs... and I do get the embeded player w...
