This should work to power down Puppy using the power button: acpid-1.0.8-i486.pet Add these two lines to /etc/rc.d/rc.local modprobe button acpid The proper scripts are included in the pet file. Load up to 20 extra SFS's in Puppy 4.1.1
First off, a big thanks to forum user MU. His work on compiling the 2.6.27 kernel is what discovered the trick. I just applied it to Puppy 4.1.1 - The method used here is a replacement initrd.gz file which contains more loop devices and an edited init file, and an extra boot parameter. Here we go......

Here is the link for the SDL library I used:

I also installed the xorg_dri libs (from the official installer), but I don't think these are needed. I added them trying to get a game to work.
Let me know if it works out.
