Retrovol taking 25% of CPU in LXPup Tahr 15.12.1

Retrovol is taking 25% of my CPU and hasn't changed in over 30 minutes. What is going on there? It does this on 2 different computers and I couldn't find any threads on this.

Thanks,

Chuck

Server download link

Maybe I am just having a bad computer day, but I have read all 9 pages of this thread and can't find a link to download the server. Every link I hit takes me to the first page of this thread, but I don't see a download link there. Am I missing it?

Re: From Michaels website

Setting Pure-FTPd to Start-up When the Server Restarts Important: You must do the following or the server will not recognize virtual users after you restart the server: cd /etc/pure-ftpd.conf sudo echo 'no' > PAMAuthentication sudo echo 'no' > UnixAuthentication sudo echo '/etc/pure-ftpd/pureftpd.p...

WB7ODYFred, I didn't see the stuff in your first post when I was researching how to do this, but I did see the stuff in your second post. I tried that but Pure did not seem to read the PureDB file. The only way I got it to work was to create a new user in passwd with adduser, and then change the pat...

Geoffrey,

That looks good! I will check it out and see if it is as easy to set up as it looks.

Thanks!

Chuck, any specific reason you're trying to use Pure-FTPd? If you provide a brief rundown of what you're wanting to do, there's probably a more convenient alternative. I just want to be able to use FTP. I don't care what flavor it is. Pure was the only thing I got running. I finally discovered that...

Pure FTP user setup

I am running Pure FTP on Wary 5.5 and I have it running but I want to set up users and point them to a specific directory. The command I am supposed to use according to the docs is pure-pw, but this file does not exist on the computer. Is there some place I should get it, or should I be doing someth...

Thanks. I just started using Wary for the first time because I am using it as a file server on an old Pentium III. (It works great!)

Well, I screwed that up. It was supposed to be a reply to the post at http://http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=22166 from nycjeff. He said "I can select on the item I'm trying to edit, when I do and push edit, I get the input form and I seem to get the correct scheduling informat...

Old Bug using cron in pSchedule

I am having the same bug that is mentioned at the beginning of this thread. When I change the command and click the plus sign, the command is changed back to " gxmessage Happy Puppy ". I am trying to set the command to: echo "Hourly Cron Test, $(date +%Y-%m-%d_%H:%M)" >> /root/my...

These are the device nodes for an analogue TV capture card.
To create these device nodes, install v4lctl.pet from here -
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=19918

then run the MAKEDEV-V4L.sh script.
The download link is broken.

Thanks. I'll try removing everything. I usually do a frugal install, but this time I wanted to use the whole hard disk because I wanted to run virtual machines. I figured that VB would create the files in the pupsave file, and I don't know how to make it put the files somewhere else.

I mounted the SFS, and when it asked me if I wanted to run it, I answered 'yes', but nothing happened. I then ran virtualbox from a terminal and got the "vboxdrv kernel module is not loaded" message. I ran "/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup" got: "Stopping VirtualBox kernel modules:...

Shinobar, I didn't know about that trick, so I will have to try it. I clicked on the SFS to mount it but still couldn't run VirtualBox. I then tried to auto-mount the SFS using BootManager, but I got an error saying that there are no SFS files in directory /mnt/home (or they all have the wrong *_nnn...
